We had the good fortune of connecting with Charish Hammond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charish, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My work life balance has changed over time because it’s a challenge to give 100% to both career and family at the same time. I didn’t want to miss anything when my children were growing up but now that my daughters are both teenagers it’s made the balance easier because they’re more independent. There are times it’s difficult but we just work around it. For example, when we recently went on vacation to Destin, FL I had to be on the phone with a client a lot during our activities. We booked a private charter and I had my attention on my phone quite a bit of the time but they understood, accommodated it, and we still had a great time. I also had a trusted colleague back home as a backup in case anything urgent came up that needed to be taken care of in person. Because my kids are older now it gives me the ability to give undivided attention and support to my clients allowing me to do the best possible job that I can for them. Through the different chapters of life we learn to organize and adapt. There will always be challenges that we have to overcome but eventually things fall into place to create the balance we need.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As you know there is no shortage of Realtors in the DFW area, I do the best I can to treat all of my clients as if they’re the most important people in the world. When they call or text I try to answer my phone or respond within minutes, always keep communication open, and navigate the process as if they were my own family. It’s never easy to get started in real estate but if you surround yourself with a knowledgeable support system and put in the hard work you’ll get where you want to be. I’ve learned that no transactions are ever the same but that’s what keeps this career interesting. Call me if you’d like a Comparative Market Analysis to see what the best list price would be in the Tarrant County market.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It depends on who it is and what time of year but here are some ideas:

Fort Worth Stockyards, eat at Joe T. Garcia’s, and visit the Water Gardens or zoo

Cowboys game and eat at Texas Live!

Ice! at The Gaylord Texan, enjoy downtown Grapevine (Christmas capital of Texas), and eat at Perry’s Steakhouse

Perot Museum, Klyde Warren Park, eat and take pics in Deep Ellum

Boating at Eagle Mountain Lake

State Fair of Texas

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people who I’ve been grateful for throughout my life. My family is always by my side encouraging and supporting me, I’m so blessed to have them, as well as the amazing mentorship and support at our office.
