We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanelle Brooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chanelle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was to fix a common issue I saw often in my salon. I’m a fixer at heart, personal and business wise. I see a problem I find a solution.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My story is a pretty simple story! I have always been very clear on who I wanted to be and what I wanted to do as a career. The vision was big, but my vision was reachable. I have always been driven by being different in a industry full of other creatives. That’s what set me apart and set the standard high. Keeping God first, allowing him to lead me and I follow allowed me to be where I am today. I believe that I’m scratching the surface and my career BIGGEST blessings are on the way. Like any career, or person trying to get to a certain level, there will always be challenges that you must overcome. I overcame challenges by embracing them. Taking the positive out of every situation and basically telling myself that everything happens for a reason and I’m going through this because I need too!

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I’d like to shoutout, 77 Degrees, Moxies, and Sandaga 613. Those are some of my favorites.
