Meet Chanel Williams | CEO and Founder of HERE Dallas

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanel Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chanel, how does your business help the community?
HERE Dallas seeks to bridge the gap by connecting individuals in Dallas to available social service resources, community events, and volunteer opportunities. We are familiar with the challenges that come with accessing resources, which is why our online platform serves as a one-stop-shop that allows users to discover and connect with local organizations for free. We strive to foster inclusivity, strengthen connections, and improve lives through easy access to vital services and life altering opportunities. Our goal is to connect people with the support they need to thrive, and to build a stronger, more connected community in the process.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am so proud of my business because it was birthed out of my obedience to God’s purpose over my life. Through volunteering and conversations with community members, I recognized that so many people need help but become overwhelmed when trying to access it. It was placed in my heart to do something about it and after a couple of years of battling imposter syndrome, I finally did. One of my biggest challenges has been researching different organizations throughout Dallas that provides assistance and adding it to the social service directory. It takes hours to do extensive research on each resource to verify their services and information accuracy. However, by the grace of God and my inner circle, I was encourage to keep pushing forward. Being an entrepreneur is not easy nor is it for the weak but it does teach you how to become more resourceful to get things done.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One thing about it, it is always something to do in Dallas. If I had some friends visiting, I would start off by taking them to bishop arts. I love this area because there is so much to do. From eating, drinking and shopping to even working out, Bishop Arts is a vibe! I been on a self-care journey so I definitely recommend hiking at Cedar Ridge then brunching at Chelsea’s Corner after. Fresh air followed by a mimosa is the perfect way to start the weekend. I would be gatekeeping if I didn’t mention getting the lobster mac and turkey leg from JS International (it is so good). While I love food, I do like to explore different things to do in Dallas outside of eating and drinking, you know things that require some friendly competition. I can be very competitive but so are my friends which makes things more fun and interesting. Anyone that knows me, knows I enjoy helping others and I’m always volunteering or attending a community event, so volunteering would definitely be on the itinerary.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to my parents for instilling compassion, courage, empathy, integrity and determination in me. Witnessing their unwavering dedication to serve others with passion and vigor has impacted my desire to help others. It is an honor to follow in their footsteps and use my talents to serve my community. I would also like to thank God for his guidance, unfailing love, blessings and faithfulness. Without him, I wouldn’t be in a position to be a blessing to others. Shoutout to him for allowing me to live a purpose driven life. It’s pretty dope!
