We had the good fortune of connecting with Cavendar Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cavendar, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I’ve always believed is spreading love & joy in life. I always believe that if I can make at least ONE person smile each day I’ve done my job on earth that day! I want people to remember that my legacy is about spreading love, kindness, joy, and acceptance.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I started my business I wanted people to see who I was as an artist. I wanted them to feel what creativity and magic I had in my heart and mind. I wanted people to feel like they were apart of a Disney fairytale when they had my flowers around. I wanted brides to feel like a princess when she saw her wedding florals. I have worked my tail off to get to where I am. For the most part I’m a one man show, but one day I strive to have a whole team that share the same love that I do. I know that the fire I have in my heart for creating beautiful things is why I have continued to work so hard for my business. It wasn’t easy, if it was I’d honestly be disappointed, I like a good challenge. There’s lots of challenges that have come my way. The type of person I am though is I don’t let those things keep me tied down. I work to find a solution to be able to move forward although that solution may have not have always been ideal it got the job done for bigger better things. I want the world to know, that it’s okay to stop and smell the roses. Let’s appreciate the small things in life again. Let’s show our love through beautiful things.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wellll, if you’re my friend you know I can show you a good time! On a Saturday we start out with breakfast at Ellen’s. Then we’d take a short drive to Harry Hines where some of my FAVORITE antique shops are especially “white elephant”. Then we’d head over for lunch in Highland park at Bubba’s fried chicken. The BEST food ever!! If you’re not full on food by this time that’s NOT my problem haha!!!
We’d probably finish the day at a few thrift stores that are my FAVORITE

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Raquel Harris, she taught me so much. Most importantly the love that she has to give to others. She showed me that there are still good flower friends in a very competitive Industry. She’s always encouraged me to keep moving forward. She’s always seen my talents and helped me push them forward!
