We had the good fortune of connecting with Catie Ronquillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a personal branding photographer for women-owned businesses. Over the last couple of years, I’ve really honed in on my niche in serving other women. I believe that building your personal brand is the fastest way to build trust, create loyalty, and stand out in your industry. There will always be many others who do what you do, but you are the secret sauce of your business.

I started my business about 14 years ago, with original intentions of being a wedding photographer. A few years in, I realized that weddings were not for me. I pivoted to photographing high school senior portraits. After a short hiatus when my son was born, I knew that I wasn’t done with photography. That was when I discovered brand photography.

It was the perfect mesh of portraiture with purpose. I always enjoyed meeting other business owners one-on-one and this was a beautiful combination of meeting with other business owners and helping them build their library of brand photos to market and promote their business.

I love to root for the underdog. The underestimated, the overlooked, and the ones that people would bet against. I want to diminish the idea that women don’t support each other; rather, it’s the complete opposite. “A rising tide lifts all boats”, so let’s go there faster, farther, together. I help women be seen as a leader in their industry so they can confidently promote their products and/or services.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely have to shout out my husband. He has always been my greatest support and encourager through starting and building my business. He happily picks up the slack when I need help or have to go to a photoshoot or travel for business. I’m so thankful that he supports me and most importantly, encourages me.
