We had the good fortune of connecting with Cashunda Gilbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cashunda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to start my own business to be able to offer services that make an impact in peoples lives. I started King Legend Entertainment Group and Yummi Yoni Dallas because I wanted to create generational wealth for my family and because I love people. I am a problem solver and I encourage people to live life to the fullest.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I began my business King Legend Entertainment Group in 2014. I wanted to start an Entertainment Company because my husband and I wrote a script together. No one wanted to give us an opportunity in the industry. They just kept talking about how hard it would be. But ,they offered to purchase the script several times. That’s when I knew we had something. We needed to get into this industry and so it began. We started running our shows at the Uptown Theater in Grand Prairie and connected with Jakenderick Hart of Dark Mariachi Studios to shoot our first full length movie “On the outside looking in”. I’ve always loved to entertain so to be able to write and produce a stage-play was a dream come true. My company deals with all things entertainment. As a female CEO in the entertainment industry it has not always been easy, but I push through and give my all. I will never give up.

I began Yummi Yoni Dallas where we do Yoni steams to care for wombs this year 2021. I wanted to open a place where women could relax and meditate while receiving wombcare. I myself was diagnosed with cervical cancer at one point but the doctors were able to get it under control. It was so important for me to do something in life that would be impactful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dallas is the place to be! If I had a friend visiting the first place we would go for breakfast is True Kitchens and Kocktails by Kevin Kelley everyday the food is everything. Then I would suggest going to tranquility spa in Cedar Hill Texas for a full body massage. Next we would go to Yummi Yoni Dallas in Grand Prairie to get a bestie steam and meditate so we can be relaxed. Afterwards we would go to One Love Lounge in Arlington for some Caribbean Music, Food and an Amazing atmosphere. The rest of the week  would be spent in Downtown Dallas. There are so many amazing places to see and opportunities for memories to be made.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Grandmother deserves a Shoutout! She has always encouraged me to do my best. There were times where I wanted to take a break and she told me to keep going. She would say that anything worth having is worth fighting for. She pushed me to be the best version of myself and for that I will be forever grateful.
