Meet Candra & Rachel | Boudoir Photographers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Candra & Rachel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Candra & Rachel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Rachel: This was not going to be as hard because I already have a few businesses. I knew the work that it took to make it happen and the sacrifices. You lose sleep and you spend a lot of time getting things together and making things work.
Candra: I love photography, I love being in photos and taking pictures. And being a stay at home mom, I wanted to do something for myself and help. I had a juicing business, so I, too, understood the sacrifice and time it takes to promote and make the product the best out there. Photography is obviously different, but still money and time spent.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, I think that because we are a team of photographers, that sets us apart. We always shoot together and that is a unique concept. We are most proud of our progress and product. We have been shooting together for about 3 months and we just have such a great vibe together and we can feel each other pretty quickly and easily. We are both stay at home moms, so shooting is more like girl time more than a job! Most excited for the new year! The future feels and looks really bright for us! We have learned about how much time we give people. Resetting packages and how we want to market ourselves. So far, it hasn’t been easy or hard. I feel like we are just learning more and more every time we shoot and edit. We have already evolved so much with our editing and using different tools to enhance the photos. Lessons we’ve learned along the way, is that everyone is so different and therefore we have learned to conform to different personalities to help them feel comfortable. We want people to know that everyone is fearfully and wonderfully made. Every woman, in every season is beautiful in her own way and we are here to help her feel beautiful and find that inner confidence.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would take them to Arlington entertainment district. There is Texas Live where you can eat, drink and ride a mechanical bull! There is also XOXO Dining room that is great for drinks and photo ops! A great place to eat and hang is Deep Ellum for brunch at STIRR then just walk around a be cute looking at all the art/graffiti and finding little hole in the wall spots to enjoy. Also, anything rooftop is FUN!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, our Lord and savior. Also, having the support of our husbands is very important because we are a team. My aunt is a huge support because she has been a photographer for 35 years. She has helped with editing tutorials and shooting tips and tricks. Rachel’s father has been supportive with providing equipment and backdrops and tips as well.
