Meet Candie Barber | Notary, Life Insurance Agent, Tax Specialist ,Independent Adjuster & Tradeline Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Candie Barber and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Candie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
This questions always makes me smile when I am asked, because quite frankly each time I thought of owning my own business all I could think about was being in control of the way I delegated my time. Life is short but moves so fast and I would prefer to spend my time doing what I Love with the people I Love. I craved bigger things in life and that’s the beauty of humankind, we are created so uniquely + purposeful with different solidity and principles. We are at our best when we function as a whole and lean into our OWN purpose and what works BEST FOR US and MEANS THE MOST OF US! I think when you hear people say “find a job that aligns with you” it’s not about a past time or gift it’s the very core of what matters to you in life and what you deem as meaningful and valuable. Being able to shape my work to reflect what I am passionate about helped me come to realization that success is NOT AN IDEA but is created by PASSION and HARD WORK!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a Goddess Candie of all trades! I’ve always loved taking on new ventures and seeing them through to completion. I have always tapped into anything that grabbed my attention and made me glow while learning. I’ve held so many positions over the course of my career. I got my first real job when I was 15 but even though I worked for a company I knew that I always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I used to go out and do yard work with my dad on the weekends and make money, did hair, lashes and even made homemade candles and soaps! I have never stopped working or looking for more ways to get more money. I started my first non profit organization in 2015 called Women With Purpose which flourished and touched the lives of many women in DFW, joined several other organizations of different capacities. What I learned, was that no matter where I found myself, I always loved to learn and struggled with the fact that I never had one clear path that I wanted to focus on because of it. This is when I realized that I loved just helping people in any form or fashion. I realized that I can use all of my skills together and just keep building my portfolio to success as an entrepreneur. Most millionaires are not millionaires because they found one thing that they were good at and stuck with it; they realized that it was several things that they were good at and became great at it!
What sets my business a part from others is the level of excellence and professionalism that I run my business in. Providing top-notch and elite customer service is my number one priority. I care about the reputation and name of my company and I do everything I can to provide life-changing customer engagement. Helping my clients to unlock their hidden potential and reach their goals through self-discovery and empowerment such as starting a business, are priceless moments for me. When I hear my clients say that they have not experienced anything like my services. I know it is because they have encountered God through my business. Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint at heart! It is a lot of hard work, planning, obedience and organization that have been my keys to success. I am all about minding the business that pays me and staying in my own lane. I am not in the business of worrying about what others on the same
Industry are doing because they won’t do it like “Me Candie B” “chuckles”! I remind myself to show up when nobody else does, push until I can’t push anymore and be in competition with only ME! . I didn’t come from money or grow up with a silver spoon. Life hasn’t always been easy, but with God, dedication, commitment, and little grit… Nothing is impossible. I help people to see that daily so I am a firm believer in this. My heart desires to help people learn to help themselves and not be afraid to do what it takes to be happy about you and for you!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is kind of a tricky question for me Because I am a homebody unless I’m out with my husband , kids, and family!
Buttttt We are in Dallas and lets just say we would run out of time before places to take someone on a week long trip lol . .We definitely have to eat because what’s a visit without good food and vibes? A nice brunch spot is a MUST! Definitely going to find a great outdoor eating location (weather permitting). La Neta Cocina y Lounge in Downtown Dallas Deep Ellum! Mexican Sugar Uptown Dallas, and Komodo Downtown Dallas! Then I think we would have to rock out with something I love to do which is shopping of course …..
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow where do I even begin?!?! I first would like to thank my amazing parents who always showed and instilled in me that putting God first is always my solution and go to for any and everything in life. I also want to thank my parents for the morals and work ethic that they instilled in me from a young age that have remained throughout my life. My family deserves more credit than I do! They stick behind me in everything that I do and have done since childhood. Having a family who loves you and shows you that they will walk in failure with you, pull you out of it and hold your hand upon each journey you take is more than just love. My husband who is My Rock, My Best friend all in one who pushes me to continue to be great no matter what I feel and how I feel! My husband has uplifted and supported me every step of the way; even way before the idea of becoming an entrepreneur occurred! So I thank God and my amazing husband for believing in me, encouraging me and being my rock! I definitely couldn’t juggle everything that I do (parenting, licensed life insurance agent, mobile notary, taxes, Tradeline specialist and running a business) without the love and support from my super talented husband and partner-in-crime, Courtney Barber 🖤
