We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryce Eden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bryce, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind our success has definately been leaving a positive impression on people we meet. The gaming and esports industries are very tightly knit and all of our biggest opportunities have come from someone dropping our name when discussing and idea with someone else. We think about this quite a bit and focus heavily on maintaining a positive reputation by providing high quality work and striving to leave a good impression on everyone we meet.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We started out building large scale costumes for ourselves and initially became know for our 14′ long Toothless dragon costume a little later 8′ tall Reinhardt from Overwatch. Our full sized Orisa(a robotic centar from the videogame Overwatch) was chosen as a finalist for the TwitchCon cosplay contest which is one of the most recognized in the industry. These huge builds were certainly instrumental in us getting noticed and putting us on the path to where we are now. Since then we’ve kind of shifted into specialty fabricators who make a little bit of everything. While we certainly still do a lot of costume work, aquiring specialized equipment has allowed us to really expand our capabilities to fabricating everything from replica weapons from gaming franchizes that are fully functional tee shirt cannons, to a giant replica light switch, to trophies and awards. In addition to building really cool costumes and props we’ve also started being invited to large “comic-con” style events as featured guests and to provide educational panels and workshops on fabrication techniques. The biggest thing we’ve learned along the way is that it is critical to continue to improve our abilities and learn new skills. When we started we were shaping upholstery form with an electric turkey carving knife. Today we have access to all kinds of specialty equipment including laser cutting, CNC routers, 3D printing, molding and casting, Ardunio programming and effects, and just about everything in between which allows us to really push the boundries of what people think is possible with in person costumes and props.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow, thats tough. There’s a ton of awesome stuff to see and do around DFW. We’ve definately got to shout out the esports stadium in Arlington and Videogame Musium in Frisco. Both would have to be in there somewhere. I’m a huge fan of going out and having some fun running around outdoors and nothing beats a day at Fun on the Run paintball park in Fort Worth. While we’re in that area it’s a bit out of the way, but Granger’s Burgers in Springtown gets my vote for best burger around. While we’re on the topic of food a trip to Carrollton for Hanabi Ramen and then a stop next door at Somisomi is a must. The Dallas Zoo and Fort Worth Botanical Gardens are great places to go walk around and enjoy some relaxing time outdoors. If they’re into spicy food you can’t miss Hot Chicks chicken. And finally Zero Latency VR is an amazing experiance that everyone should try.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Frostbite cosplay is a partnership between myself and my younger sister Aspen. We each bring different skills to the table and there is no way in which I could have been successful in the endevor without her.
