We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooklen Farley and Morgan Goree and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brooklen and Morgan, how do you think about risk?
We think that risk is an essential part of success, especially in the wellness industry at this time. Although not every risk we take is calculated, we try to have an intention when choosing which risks are worth taking. Considering each aspect of the risk has been vital in making those choices worthwhile.

We both pursued careers in bodywork, which the pandemic has significantly impacted. But by having faith in our purpose to help people, we took the risk, and now Brooklen is a massage therapist, and Morgan is halfway through his doctoral program in Chiropractic.

By taking that risk, we found our true passions and an overall better lifestyle for ourselves. Because we coupled risk with intention, we have grown in our fields in more ways than we expected. We are now educating people about their bodies and bodywork through our growing digital community and sharing new ways to approach self-care.

It was scary to put ourselves out there as newbies in our field; it was challenging to go into professions we were still learning about, but we just tried, and it has grown into something beautiful. Of course, there is no way to predict every scenario when you make a risky choice, but there is also no way to know how it could go if you don’t try.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Kind Body Therapy is a digital community created to show people simple ways to take care of their bodies through self-care, movement, and bodywork education. We believe that although we’re a young collective, KBT stands out because we show just how simple body maintenance can be with a wide variety of valuable and engaging content. Our content includes stretches, exercises, tips for students, and even playlists to study to or use for a bodywork session. We are most excited about the positive reception from other bodyworkers since launching the page back in November. We are also proud to educate people who have never heard of massage therapy or chiropractic care before seeing our page. Constantly producing content and working and finishing school can be overwhelming at times, but we can already see the benefit of putting ourselves and our work out there.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of the most exciting places we would check out include the Arboretum in Dallas or the Rose Garden in Farmers Branch to enjoy some outside time. We would visit Deep Sushi in Deep Ellum for THE BEST sushi and house margaritas. We would also go to Legacy Hall because they have a great view and a fantastic restaurant called Roots. Another stop would be the Dallas Zoo and end the trip with some ice cream from Braum’s.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our friends and peers who gave us honest feedback about the brand and our work deserve credit for our story. Those who have opened up themselves to our ideas and late-night questions are the ones that have helped push Kind Body Therapy forward.
