We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Usrey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up my family owned a chain of fireworks stands in East Texas. We were taught from a young age to be self-starters. Once, I obtained the necessary certifications and licenses, I knew I was ready to go off on my own. The freedom it has brought to my life is indescribable.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My career in pest services began at one of the largest pest control companies in the world. My job was was dealing with high profile brands and large food and beverage facilities. I opened the business at the end of 2019 gearing up for the spring of 2020. I knew what I was doing from my years in the industry and I had a plan, but then COVID hit. Between the pandemic, supply chain, product shortages, and inflation, I faced quite a few challenges along the way. I learned quite a few things as well. I learned that I did not want to be like all the other companies out there. The main difference is that I do not require contracts. The way I see it is if the client is happy with my service, I do not need one. That is my guarantee: on-demand pest control when the client needs it, with no strings attached. My company holds 5 star reviews across multiple platforms from the clients I have helped. My journey is best described in those reviews. That’s Next Level.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ha! Where to begin?! Monday would be golf at Fossil Creek Golf Course. Course is wide open on Mondays. Dinner at 97 West Kitchen and Bar. Tuesday we could check out the Truck Yard at Alliance Town Center for live music. The mules and food trucks are good. Wednesday would be $1 hot dog night at Globe Life Field followed by Texas LIVE! Thursday we could go check out Acre Distilling Co. downtown followed by dinner at Hurtado Barbecue. Friday would be dinner at Blue Sushi and then a concert at Billy Bob’s. Saturday would be spent on the boat on Eagle Mountain Lake. I’d take them to The Lake House for dinner after. Sunday we would have to spend at the Eagle’s Nest. So many TVs for whatever sporting event you want to watch. Torchy’s would be lunch most days. And we would need to fit Chimy’s in there sometime. I may have to actually do this now.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Family and Friends! So many people really. I have discovered loyalty and faith like I’ve never known before in my pursuit of owning a successful business.
