We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobby Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bobby, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I worked in Corp. offices for years. Over time, it became stressful, unfulfilling and I wasn’t enjoying my job. It was hard going to a job everyday that I didn’t enjoy. I really enjoyed fitness, It made me feel great, kept me healthy, relived stress, and I’ve met so many people. I want others to feel and experience what I have, along with living a better healthier life, both physically and mentally.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m the founder of Bobby J FITT, built on Desire, Dedication, and Discipline. I’m a hybrid athlete, personal trainer, and group fitness coach helping people build strength, endurance, and confidence — in and out of the gym.

Right now, I train clients at a local gym while growing my independent coaching business, with the goal of going full-time. My style blends functional strength, conditioning, and race prep for events like Spartan, DEKA, and HYROX.

It hasn’t been easy balancing both worlds, but the grind has taught me resilience and the power of consistency. What I’m most proud of? Watching clients reach goals they once thought were impossible.

Bobby J FITT is more than workouts — it’s a mindset. My mission is to inspire people to push past limits and commit to becoming their best selves.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh wow, Well,I would have to take them to White Rock Lake. I love running and cycling there. I would also take them to River Legacy Park, that’s my 2nd option. Breakfast would be at First Watch! I love their breakfast options. We would explore Downtown Dallas. I always find something cool there. Dinner options throughout the week would be Salata’s, Pappadeux’s, Babe’s, and if I REALLY want to show them some really great food, I’ would pick Truluck’s! Check out a Dallas Mavericks game, and if it’s racing season, Texas Motorplex for some NHRA Drag Racing, or NASCAR at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can’t name all those who have inspired me. I will say that my first major fitness organization was Camp Gladiator. That’s where I received my start into coaching fitness and running my own business. I learned a lot from other CG instructors. And UFCFIT gym, which was located in North Richland Hills, TX. There I learned more about Personal Training and Group Fitness. Donnie Oliver, VP of YFC Gym, and my two fitness managers, Star Fleming, and Charles Ngo really took time with me, boosted my confidence and elevated me to another level.
