We had the good fortune of connecting with Birgit Fink and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Birgit, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Independence: Running your own insurance agency provides you with a significant level of independence. You have the freedom to set your own hours, choose the types of insurance products you want to offer, and tailor your services to meet the needs of your clients. Operating my own agency enables me to develop meaningful relationships with my clients. By offering personalized service and building trust, myself & my wonderful staff can establish long-term connections that lead to repeat business and referrals.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At the Fink Agency we are ALL about our customers! My husband Justin & I are 100% a small business owner! We take pride in finding the best deals, and offering the best customer service with that small town feel! I have been in the insurance industry since 2014! About 4 years ago I started working under Ryan Roach with Farmers insurance, At that time I was given the opportunity to take over Ryan’s book & become the agency owner. My staff and I worked hard to build our book with Farmers over the last year. Then in Jan of 2024 I decided to go independent. With the unpredictable insurance market and rates – I wanted to be able to offer many choices to my customers! I truly believe in the small town/family feel when it comes to customer service. I actually designed my logo with a local Graphic designer Ricky Harris! It depicts exactly how we want our culture at the agency. The logo depicts a family of 4 (inspired by my own family) holding hands under an umbrella. Fink Agency is the umbrella protecting ALL of my customers under it. I will say, it has not been easy! Anyone who has worked sales and insurance knows that it comes with highs and lows! And the insurance market in Texas is very difficult to navigate right now. But between my staff & I we have over 30 years of combined experience. I want everyone to know my staffs name! They are the backbone to this agency & I am so proud of them! Perla Ramirez, Robert Rubio, Stephanie Pappas, Sarah Barry & Kagan Holifield. I have learned that you cannot control the insurance market! You just have to buckle down and continue to be the best agent to your customers!
Our reason for pushing through in this uncertain market is absolutely for my children Ridley & Jaxton. I hope to leave a legacy for them & financial freedom,
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have to say we would stop at Brandons Kitchen for lunch! Go for a hike at The Mineral Wells State park – followed by shopping in down town Mineral Wells! Then a night out at either Coffee & Cocktails or the wine bar, or Ricks brewhouse! Live music, good food, good people and drinks!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My staff, first and foremost! Managing the uncertainties of entrepreneurship requires resilience, and my staff’s resilience in the face of challenges has been key to our collective success. Their positive attitude, perseverance, and ability to bounce back from setbacks have helped my agency weather storms and emerge stronger. Second is my wonderful customers! We would not be The Fink Insurance Agency without the communities support. And last but not least, my Husband and my family!
