Meet Beverly Biehl | Feng Shui Master and Intuitive Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Beverly Biehl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beverly, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
When my kids were still quite young, around 7-9, I discovered that I was an energy empath. This meant that I would absorb energy from those around me and would act on those emotions as if they were my own. I couldn’t bear the disappointment of those sweet darlings, until the real need for rules and structure came crashing in. That’s when the yelling would start, and my kids would be stunned at the sudden change in sweet mother. Think of a person walking into a spider web and the ensuing flailing about trying to get free from the tickly fibers! As I learned to distinguish between what emotions were mine and which ones belonged to others, I was able to maintain a more even keel. It still was a challenge to disappoint them, but their anger held less and less sway over me as I improved my personal energy boundaries. I still felt A LOT, and yet was able to find the space between the Feeling and the Acting, leading to fewer hurt feelings and more understanding. The biggest area of weakness is still not wanting them to experience hardship or painful experiences, but I know that I can now separate between my needs and desires and theirs. And yes, I’ve done my best to teach my kids the same techniques, and that exposure seems to have helped them.
What should our readers know about your business?
We’ve all had the experience of walking into a home or a business and instantly felt embraced, comfortable, and welcomed. We’ve also had the opposite experience, when we’ve instantly felt uncomfortable and couldn’t wait to get out of there. Business owners can experience higher employee turnover, dissatisfied customers, and lost revenue. On the personal front, it can lead to relationship strife, poor sleep, and even negative health outcomes. I discovered Feng Shui after being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36. I immediately felt the shift when I made changes based on the principles of intention and energy flow. I noticed that my thoughts became less chaotic at the same time. All of our choices are based on mental filters. When those are cluttered, broken, or obscured by inherited patterns and belief systems, we can find ourselves stuck, overwhelmed, frustrated, and filled with anger and anxiety.
Piles are not the problem that many make them out to be. Sometimes it’s just how one needs to work as a visual organizer. And sometimes, those piles are covering up an emotional issue or decision that you don’t want to make, and then it becomes an opportunity for healing. I’m one of a handful of Feng Shui masters who also work with releasing the emotional and energetic blocks in the space as well as the client. I actively use the physical space to inspire healing and new-found wisdom, providing suggestions to anchor in new behaviors and perspectives with tangible objects and placements. Energy Alchemy made manifest!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Austin has so many great places to explore! First stop, Valentina’s BBQ. Everyone raves about Franklin’s BBQ, but Valentina’s is my choice. A drive around Clarksville to see some of the huge mansions that the original movers and shakers built, along with a visit to Nau Drugstore to get a milkshake. If you are up for some exercise, a walk up Mt. Bonnell for a beautiful view of the lake, or a hike around Lady Bird Wildflower center would be fun too! There’s lots of live music to take in. It doesn’t matter if it’s in a honkytonk like The Broken Spoke, a blues band at the Saxon Pub, or the Symphony, it’s all good! If it’s theater you like, there are some amazing performances at the Zach Theater or the vintage feel of the Paramount Theater. And no trip to Austin is complete without a visit to the State Capitol. The rich history of the surrounding museums help any visitor get a feel for what makes this state and city tick!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been three very influential men in my life that got me to this point. First, my amazing husband of almost 30 years, Allen. He’s been my rock as I have navigated so many areas of exploration. He’s my best friend, my lover, and my playmate all rolled into one tall drink of water! Second, my son, Alexander. This brilliant human being made me a mom, a role that is honestly the most intense personal development course ever. He’s been the sandpaper that I needed to refine my rough edges and reform my outdated beliefs around many topics. Third, my daughter, Kathryn. Her constant quest for knowledge and tenacity to achieve her goals inspires me to do the same. And finally, Mark Youngblood, my spiritual mentor/teacher…he’s the one responsible for sharing the tools that tapped into my innate gifts and the confidence to actually use them. Without these four, I wouldn’t be doing what I am doing!
