We had the good fortune of connecting with Berenice Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Berenice, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my business because I really enjoyed taking pictures of people and my models would say I made them feel comfortable doing so and that became my goal. To always try my best to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Besides photography I am a full time high school teacher!! I love the ability to have students relate to me because I am a young teacher. I teach Human Growth and Development as well as Practices of Education. And I love hearing my students saying they want to pursue careers in the NICU or as a teacher themselves. It’s honestly such a sweet feeling to know that they enjoy my class enough to want to pursue a career in it.

With photography I have gotten the opportunity to take a couple of my students senior portraits. Which has been so special to me to have captured a huge milestone.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Magnolia area is definitely a fun spot to check out with great food and drinks!! If you’re looking for a great burger my favorite is the Goodnight Good Cause burger from Hop Doddys!! A MUST HAVE is also the spicy shrimp plate from coco shrimp!!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Julian Gonzalez!! When we started dating he was my model, he was always down to go driving to find a new location or just pose in my room.
When my business started picking up, he started coming to shoots with me to help set up or even take care of my clients kids while I shot them! He’s supported my business and sometimes believed in it more than me when I would get discouraged.
