We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Graham and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ben, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
There are many days with ups and downs but you need to keep still looking forward and adjusting your approach. Being a business owner means being flexible and willing to put in the work even when you think you can’t. I also feel a new admiration for other small businesses now because I have a taste of the obstacles they’ve had to overcome to get to where they are. Diligence and perseverance are the most important lessons that I’ve learned while starting this business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my career in Emergency Medicine and found a passion for fast paced complex medical conditions. I then worked in Orthopedic Surgery, Urgent Care, Hormone Replacement Therapy, and Aesthetics. It definitely was not a walk in the park to get to where I am today however it was a plethora of welcomed challenges. I’ve learned that hard work and sacrifice is truly what sets you apart from others. Wellness Code was a culmination of diligence, perseverance, and sheer blessings. I am so excited with the growth of Wellness Code and we cannot wait to see it flourish into a household name.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Everyone who knows me knows that I love to play basketball so we would definitely hit the gym to play some basketball together first. After that, we’d go out for brunch in Lower Greenville at HG Supply Co. and then head out for some fun with some more friends. I’d show them around Klyde Warren park and Trinity Groves and even maybe even head over to Deep Ellum to check out the scene there. I’m a huge foodie as well so we’d definitely be eating at some of my Dallas favorites such as Town Hearth and Oishii Sushi.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My story would be completely different without the support of my wife Cheryl and family! They are constantly giving me encouragement and prayers that are what keeps me afloat daily. Also, my business partner Robin has been a great mentor and friend along the way to starting this journey.
