We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Foltz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I began my career fresh out of high school. I was passionate about it from the start. As I grew and learned more under my now business partner I knew I could build something more than just a “tile business” but a brand I could pass down to my son.

What should our readers know about your business?
Dean had owned his own business in CA for 30+ years. I had the pleasure of working under him for about 5 of them. In June of 2021 he had decided to leave CA and head to TX. My wife was 6 months pregnant and we weren’t quite ready to pick up and go. Since I hadn’t really worked anywhere else I was forced to make it on my own. I reached out to previous customers, contractors, and connections I’d made over the years. For the next year I was able to make it on my own. It was then I knew I could really make something of this. I was always in the backseat and never had the confidence to even dream of owning a business on my own. When I didn’t have other options & was able to make it happen I found the courage to really chase my dream. Fast forward to now & I’m putting my heart and soul into bringing the passion and drive to TX.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve only been in the area for about 5 months, so I am still trying to find my spots. I spend a lot of my free time with my family and in-laws. They have a beautiful 18 acres that we like to play around with.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely our families. We have an interesting dynamic I (Ben Foltz) am married to my business partners daughter. So we are very close & without the support of our spouses and other family members I don’t think we would be where we are today.

I also couldn’t have even come up with this entire business had it not been for my son, Kingston. He is my biggest inspiration. I personally grew up watching my father work so hard & I want to teach my son those same values.
