We had the good fortune of connecting with Batina Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Batina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Our thought process behind starting our moving business is to do what we love doing, which is rendering our support to those who needs it and also a way for us to give back to the community by hiring those that can’t get a regular 9 to 5 job. Seeing the smile we put on our customer faces makes it worth the while and that fuels our passion in the continuation of our moving business.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets us apart is the passion and love we get when we see our customers happy at the end of the day. The way we got to where we are today is none willingness to fail and the constant motivation to be someone in life. It was definitely not easy due to the fact that the moving industry is a very competitive industry. Building our cliental and gaining their trust wasn’t easy either.
We overcame this challenges by never quitting and knowing that there’s always a light at every end of the tunnel.
The lessons we learnt is that nothing good comes easy but we long suffering, persistency and the right mindset, the sky is only the limit.
We want the world to know that we are unique in our own way, diverse and our main priority is to give back to the society.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First we will go to the Hour-Glass(Bar) for drinks and food and also good ol karaoke. Then the next day we will head out for brunch at the Biscuit bar for brunch then downtown to the Aquarium and museum. Later on that evening we will go listen to live band jazz music then back to the crib. Following morning we make breakfast then drop my friend off at the train station.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my business partner.
