We had the good fortune of connecting with Baba Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Baba, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
we actually have two businesses that are closely intertwined. the first is 333space, which is inspired by the sociology term “third place” — spaces outside of home and work where people can just be. through 333space, we host markets, dinner parties, hangouts, and other creative expressions that foster connection and a sense of community.

the second is 333matcha, our mobile matcha cart. we serve high-quality matcha at events and gatherings, and it’s become another way we bring people together.

the idea for both came really naturally to us — we’re (baba and kenna) just wired for creativity and connection. people started showing up, resonating with the vibe and the heart behind what we were doing, so we decided to lean in and build something that could really serve the community in a meaningful way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
one of the things that sets us apart is our conviction for authenticity — we’re really intentional about making sure what we create is both true to us and of real service to others. money matters, of course, but it’s not our driving force. there’s a deeper why behind everything we do, and we think people can feel that. it’s probably a big reason why things have grown the way they have.

honestly, the journey so far has been unusually full of ease — not because we haven’t worked hard (we definitely have), but because it feels aligned. the work flows from a place of passion and purpose, so even the challenges feel worth it.

we’re most proud of creating spaces where people feel connected, free, and seen. our hope is to provoke the world into a deeper consideration of the value of community — to remind people that beauty lives in togetherness, even with our differences. and also, that art can be anything, as long as it’s real.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
a few staples i’d definitely recommend are davis street coffee for a cozy vibe, tiny victories for great cocktails, and old monk for a chill hangout. hands + rose coffee is another favorite — super aesthetic and thoughtfully made drinks. and if we’re shopping, we’d head to jowa in bishop arts — they always have something unique and curated.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
for me (baba), one book that really shaped my perspective on art and expression is the artist’s way — it helped me understand creativity as something spiritual, something to be tended to. i also really resonated with rick rubin’s book the creative act — it reminded me to stay present and trust the process.

for both of us (kenna and baba), the community around us — especially in oak cliff and the surrounding areas — has been a huge part of the journey. we’ve found people who see us, support what we’re doing, and give us the courage to keep dreaming and building. we definitely wouldn’t be doing any of this without that kind of love and encouragement.
