We had the good fortune of connecting with Asia Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Asia, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Do hard things” is my life’s motto.

Whenever I feel nervous, scared, or intimidated about doing something outside my comfort zone or beyond my expertise, I take a deep breath and remember that I do hard things. I don’t “try” to do hard things, and I don’t only remind myself that I “can” do hard things. The distinction shifts from rhetoric, where I’m trying to convince myself to do something that makes me uncomfortable, to receipts, where I recall the success I’ve had from past actions that weren’t easy. This discomfort is where my success lies.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My law firm, The Wright Choice, was established to provide individuals and small to mid-sized companies with access to reasonably priced legal services and an approachable attorney who can educate the community. The Wright Choice is growing as a reputable, Fractional General Counsel firm in Texas. We love strategizing with clients by hearing their passions and planning the next best steps to ensure compliance, which keeps our clients protected. Starting my firm wasn’t easy; however, I have overcome many challenges by being creative in how I market myself and my services. From hosting legal clinics to establishing connections with referral partners, creativity in identifying opportunities has given me a competitive advantage in the industry.

I am passionate about community engagement, and I strive to make a meaningful impact by educating local business owners on best legal practices. I started helping the community by creating a small business clinic where current and aspiring business owners who aren’t ready to partner with an attorney can get strategic legal consultations at The DEC Network by appointment. I’m also having conversations with other community partners to establish additional legal clinics and educational seminars around the metroplex. Our firm will continue to educate founders in spaces and support the community to make an impact on those who lack considerable legal support.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During the week, we’re taking time to hang out at Northpark Mall. My best friend and I have a tradition of getting pretzels when we go to the mall, but I will always forgo a snack to eat at one of the great restaurants in Eataly. I will also make plans for us to hang out in Addison. Whether it’s lunch at Nando’s and happy hour at Postino or dinner at Hudson House and putt putt after hours at Putt Shack, some of my favorite hangout places are in or near Village on the Parkway.

We’d have to visit one of the area’s best new spas, in my opinion, at World Springs. I had such an unexpectedly relaxing visit that I can’t wait to go back! Some outdoor time at Klyde Warren Park is also on the agenda. Afterwards, we can enjoy food at one of the many food trucks or eat at Miriam Cocina. This plan would be best on a Thursday, so we could visit Thursdays on Tap at the Perot Museum afterward in the summer. You can’t go wrong with live music, more food trucks and drinks, and after hours access to the museum without kids.

However, the week isn’t complete without going to my two favorite restaurants: Gloria’s and Haywire. We would go to Haywire during happy hour and stay for a killer dinner, and end the week with brunch at Gloria’s in Bishop Arts on Saturday morning. Lastly, we’ll walk and shop around at the Bishop Bazaar and end the trip with drinks and dancing at LadyLove.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to a great book called A Happy Pocketful of Money by David Cameron Gikandi. This book transformed my perspective on money, business, and life. I wove the perspective I learned from this book into the law of attraction teachings from Alleah Friedrichs, and learned how to be my most joyful self. Life is beautiful, and I will enjoy it.
