We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashli Clements and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashli, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from a small town in West Texas called Levelland. Population 13,000. People always ask me how to pronounce it. I simply say “level land”. And it was level alright. Not one hill or bump anywhere in site. You could see a tornado coming from a mile away!
West Texas is known for the people. They say West Texas people are just “Good People” and I believe they are right. We will start up a conversation with you anywhere!
This has helped me today in my Real Estate business. I can talk to anyone! I make them feel at ease. I think that is what draws people to me. The fact that they are relaxed around me and can trust me. I received a call one day from a man asking me if I could help him buy a house for his son. He lived in Midland. I asked him how he found me…He said he looked at my profile and it said I was from West Texas. We are just good people.
What should our readers know about your business?
I have been in the Residential Real Estate business for 7 years. I feel like it has flown by! I am a one-man band. That is what I am most proud of. I tell all of my clients that they will always get me and not an assistant! I will show them properties, I will show their property, I will be their ONLY contact from start to finish! It does get crazy but I need to do things myself. What is the saying? “If you want anything done right, you need to do it yourself”! I love getting to know all my clients so well. It is a journey. Sometimes a roller coaster. I am more than a Realtor to my clients. I have been a therapist, a shoulder to cry on, a friend who listens….I wear many hats. I believe that is why almost all of my clients are now my friends. I even attended my client’s wedding a few months ago!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many fun things to do and see in Dallas. I always tell my clients from out of state that they can literally find anything in Dallas! No need to go to NYC or LA when you can find it here in Dallas! From the best shopping to the best Doctors, Dallas has it all!
I would have to take my friend to see the George W. Bush Library, Klyde Warren Park, The Bishops Arts District, The Dallas Arts District, and where JFK was assassinated. And of course, Highland Park Village to do some shopping!
While strolling around Klyde Warren Park, we would sit and rest at Mi Cocina drinking a ranch water and people watching.
At night, we would go check out The Moody Performance Hall and head to Javier’s afterwards for dinner.
Of course I would also take my friend to see the Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys, or Texas Rangers. But not before we hit Bob’s Steak & Chop House on Lemmon for dinner. Bob’s has been around since 1993 and I still crave it like I did back in 1996!
With the weather being beautiful 9 months out of the year, we would have a long brunch/lunch at Lover’s Seafood. Sitting on their wonderful patio and drinking mimosas and rose.
Depending on what my friend was in the mood for as far as dinner, I would suggest Cafe Pacific, Bistro 31, Drake’s, Hudson House, or Shinsei.
By the way, Hudson House has the best Happy Hour from 3pm to 6pm every day. Grab a martini and enjoy a half price burger and some oysters!
If we weren’t too tired after our long exhausting day, we would probably go hang out after dinner at Lounge 31 and do a Whataburger run on our way home!!
So many things to do in Dallas! I did not even get to Arlington and Fort Worth!
To be continued…
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this Shoutout to my family! My Mom (Sharon), Dad (Larry), Sister (Brandi), Son (Sheldon), Daughter (Lawsyn), and of course Jesus Christ.
They have been with me all the way! From struggling to start my business, to celebrating my wins!
