We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Waking up and doing what I love everyday! Creating and building a internationally known name for Outcast Riches LLC with no restrictions is my goal. It took a while for me to truly understand that sometimes you have to take chances on you that no one else will to truly appreciate the feeling of happiness and success. I worked in the corporate world from the age of 16 to 29. I always worked to have the freedom of being able to do what I want when I wanted. It became a routine, dreading getting up to go to work but satisfied when my direct deposit hit!
I believe everyone has a purpose in life, a passion something they would do for free because they are passionate about it. I feel like we are taught early in school that having the best education, specific career or bracket of income is the only way to having the “American dream.” What about your dreams though? RIGHT!! The same energy I put into those jobs just working for a check I decided to put into my dreams! Entrepreneurs can have the same ‘American dream” tailored specifically for them!!!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Custom and Tailored designs for Apparel. Upholstery for Automotive and Furnishings. Stylist, Personal shopper, Event planner and Online Boutique is what Outcast Riches LLC offers.

I LOVE to create, design and bring ideas to life! This last year taught me so much, I started out thinking it would be easy. I did not realize how much time, money, dedication, motivation, tears or trial and errors it would take to feel like my work was paying off.
Outcast Riches LLC is growing into everything I hoped it would be especially coming into our first year of business in July! I realized that challenges are apart of the game apart of life! As long as I never give up on ME, remain humble and keep God first SUCCESS will continue to happen for me.

May 3, 2021 I launched OCR Upholstery ! My Grandfather Arthur Busby started in the upholstery business in 1968. My father and I with the blessing of my Grandmother Gladys Busby and Uncle Robert Busby now carry on the family business. Using the same machine my grandfather used in his shop!

My father is a amazing man I am the definition of a “Daddy’s Girl” lol Its a amazing feeling to not only have his support but for him to trust my ideas and dreams. My father becoming my business partner is my proudest moment thus far!

My dream is to be Internationally recognized and I plan to put in the work to make it happen! Stay tuned there is soooo much more to come!!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
DFW offers a wide range of things to do everyday along with our local favorites we either grew up on or discovered. If i had to recommend a few places to check out or grab a good meal or drinks. It would definitely be

Lishas home cooked plates in Ft Worth I am a huge fan of her dirty rice, beef tips and rice and the fried corn!
Lolo’s Chicken and Waffles make sure you try the raspberry kool-aid

Hot Shots for the best burgers!

Aunt Irene’s in Dallas fried fish and shrimp, the cookies and the cheesy potatoes my favs!

MC snow cones in Arlington open year round the bessst ! Barbie with cream and a cup of elotes!

Sippin in Color for a Cherry Limeade or Strawberry Henny drink! I freeze mine before drinking and always have to buy at least 2 lol!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
MY PARENTS I never realized how fortunate I was growing up having both my parents in my life everyday. They have always been my biggest fans! From the first day I expressed my ideas for starting my business they have supported me in every way. I appreciate them for always being present, supportive and everything they have sacrificed over the last 30 years to see me fulfill my dreams or genuinely be happy.
