We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Shihab and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I knew right away that Corporate America was not for me. I wanted more freedom and autonomy in my career, and in my life, but I didn’t know how I was going to get it. This started my personal growth and healing journey where I uncovered who I really am at my deepest, most authentic core, and what I really wanted in my life. On this journey it became evident to me that I was meant to be a life coach, and that there was no plan B I wanted to explore. In starting my own business that is the mindset I took – one of this is meant to be, there is no plan B, this is just going to workout. And thankfully, it has!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Certified Life Coach specializing in clarity, authenticity and getting unstuck. I believe that if something isn’t happening in your life it’s because you are lacking clarity. I coach teen girls and adult men and women virtually so you can live anywhere and coach with me. I meet my clients where they are and help them to move forward with clarity on who they really are, what they really want and how to actually get it.
I feel so proud to have created employment for myself doing something that I absolutely love. Helping others to completely transform their lives and to celebration wins that at one time seemed totally unrealistic or unattainable to them is more fulfilling than I can even put words to.
To keep myself and my business running smoothly, especially when faced with challenges, I make sure to always prioritize myself. More specifically, I prioritize having fun, rest and personal growth. I meet with my Life Coach regularly as it is invaluable to me. I also find that I get the best ideas for my business when I’m totally immersed in something I enjoy doing. I’m not even thinking about my business and suddenly an inspired idea just pops into my head!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to set a vibe and create experiences for others. I would check in with my friend to see what she felt like doing, and would offer to sprinkle in some activities for our minds, bodies and stomachs – Dallas has a great foodie scene!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my story to everyone who believed in me on this journey. My family, friends, teachers, life coach, mentors – everyone who didn’t think twice about supporting me and believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.
