We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
The principle that matters the most to me is integrity because it’s the foundation that everything else, personally and professionally, is built on. It’s not something that you can just put on – it’s in you and will be reflected in what you do.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Common Ground Real Estate is a real estate company serving buyers, seller and renters in DFW and also offers a 100% free apartment locating service. I’ve been interested in real estate for several years and finally decided to create the company last year. I’ve invested in things in the past, but this was the first time that I was building a business from the ground up. As with most new businesses, it wasn’t easy, but it’s doable. It can be overwhelming because there’s so much to do, but patience and organization are key. Planning is important, too. I couldn’t prepare for everything, but planning helped me from becoming lost in the chaos.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I really enjoy the Bishop Arts and Trinity Groves areas so I would definitely take them there. Soiree Coffee Bar is a must-visit! Other places include: -Chimichurri (great food and amazing artwork)
-Dallas Museum of Art
-The Star
-KAI Legacy West

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m extremely close to my family and they definitely deserve some recognition. They have been so supportive throughout my journey.
