We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Eichten and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, how do you think about risk?
I think those who are successful, take risks often. One of the biggest risks or decision I made was to move away from home and my family and go to Texas, a state that I have only been once. My goal was to get an internship for marketing, but I kept getting turned down. I decided to look for a coaching job for the meantime, until I could get an internship. When I was interviewing for the coaching position, they asked if I would be interested in helping with social media and marketing. I said yes of course! I am now able to do two things that I love, coach and marketing! To think, if I did not move to Texas and/or got a marketing internship, I may not have a job that I absolutely love and look forward to each day. The experience from this job will really open the door for me in terms of marketing jobs, and I can’t wait to see where I am in the next 5 years.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I currently coach gymnastics and I am the marketing director for Texas Dynamix. I started coaching gymnastics at age 15 and was trained by my own coach. My favorite thing about coaching gymnastics is seeing the progress your kids make, even when it is something small. I graduated in 2021 with a degree in Marketing and Management, not knowing exactly what I wanted to do. I had a small internship with my school doing social media and I really enjoyed it. I now do a bunch of things for TXD like social media, ads, digital media, and website creation. There are just so many jobs one can have with a marketing degree. I still am wanting to learn more about other possible jobs within the marketing world.
I have learned that not every job will be a good fit for you, that you will not enjoy working with everyone sometimes, and to not sell yourself short. You know how much you are worth.
I want people to know that no matter where you are in life, if you want something bad enough, you can and will make it happen!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am still fairely new to Texas. It will be a year in July! Some of my favorite spots so far is any place with a cool outdoor patio area, like Chill and The Truck Yard. I also really like the botanical garden in Dallas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents and coaches for raising me to work hard for what you want. Also, my boss for giving me the opportunity to continue to learn and grow at Texas Dynamix.
