We had the good fortune of connecting with Asa Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Asa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I grew up believing that if I went to school, earned good grades, and secured a steady job, I’d have it all figured out. I pictured a life where I could easily balance work, travel, and family. However, after college, reality set in: my husband and I were still struggling to make ends meet, relying on as many odd jobs and gigs as we could find.

We have dreams we want to see live. I’ve always been passionate about helping women who have experienced abuse, and my husband and I both want to assist those looking to escape homelessness. He also dreams of sharing music that inspires others. But none of that is possible without the financial resources to make a real impact.

I always knew I needed to do more, or something else, but I told myself I was too busy, especially when I was juggling various gigs like food delivery and working with the Census. I had tried different business ventures, but with no mentorship or guidance, I often felt lost. Then, an unexpected opportunity came my way—one that allowed me to own my own business, work with products I genuinely believe in, and, most importantly, receive coaching and mentorship from people who were invested in my success. That was the turning point I had been searching for. Not only dies this opportunity help me and my family, but it also allows me to extend that support to other families looking for more.

What should our readers know about your business?

What truly sets us apart is the heart behind our work: we genuinely love people. Sure, we want our business to grow—who doesn’t? But we’re determined to build it on the principles of biblical love—kindness, patience, and a sincere desire to serve. Our goal isn’t just to sell products; it’s to help people on their journey, whatever that may be. If we can’t assist you, we’ll be upfront about it. If we can, we’ll walk with you every step of the way.

We want every client to feel comfortable reaching out—whether it’s for products or even for prayer. It’s always their choice. We’re not some faceless corporation; we’re a family offering access to products that many do not know about or have access to. What I’m most proud of is how we handle feedback. If something doesn’t work for a client, I’m just as happy to hear about it as when it does. Why? Because it gives us a chance to find something that truly fits their needs—at no extra cost—or even provide a refund. At the end of the day, the products speak for themselves, and our clients come to see we’re not kidding when it comes to caring and serving.

Our business, For Your Good, is powered by a trusted 60+ year-old company, Amway. We provide some of the best affordable, high-quality products in beauty, nutrition, sports nutrition, personal care, and home essentials like air and water treatment systems and cleaning supplies.

Whether you’re aiming to lose weight, boost your health, improve your skin, build muscle, or find eco-friendly cleaning solutions, we’re here to help. And that’s just some of what we offer—reach out to discover all the ways we can support you on your journey.

Starting and maintaining a business hasn’t been easy, and we still have a way to go. Being in business has exposed me to parts of myself I never imagined. But I’m grateful for the growth, and for the people and experiences that have shaped me. Books like The Game of Conquering by Rob Sperry and The Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkinson have been game-changers in my journey, and I’m still growing every day. This business, along with the support of my business partners, has helped soften my once-calloused heart and made me a better person along the way.

One important lesson I’ve learned is that not everyone is meant to be part of your journey, and that’s okay. The right clients, the ones you’re truly meant to serve, and the right teammates will come when the time is right. You don’t have to force it; those meant to be with you will align naturally.

We want people to know that anything is possible, and we truly believe in that—and in people. We believe one opportunity can change your life. Our brand is built on love, and we want everyone to feel that we genuinely care; For Your Good.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I have to give thanks to my Heavenly Father. The personal growth and character work I’ve experienced is a direct result of His guidance. This is my belief, and my life stands as a testament to the mentorship and love I’ve received through my Lord and Savior, Yahweh, made possible by the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ.

I also owe immense gratitude to my family. Without my husband’s perseverance, I could have easily let bitterness and pride steer me off course from the path God kept pushing us toward. A special thanks to my mom and dad, who have been incredibly supportive, not just through their words but also as loyal clients and advocates. And to my extended family—whether by blood or spirit—you continue to believe in us, and support us with your words and your actions, and for that, I am forever grateful.
