We had the good fortune of connecting with Archie Murphy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Archie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Trying to support my family and break generation of wealth. Also show people my gift.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well how I started my business which is called Taste of the Soul I am call Chef Archie AKA Chef AC Murph AKA Chef Arch. Well one of the reasons I started my business is because well first of all I love food. In my culture food dedicates love. It brings a family together and you see generation after generations gather at a table. One of the main reasons I started my business was to show people what I can do I put myself on a plate so it’s like I’m putting my heart I’m putting my love I’m putting my passion I’m putting my gift all on this one plate. Also one of the reasons why I believe I got where Im at now in business is I never gave up. I will give you a little bit more behind it and it will go with the the lesson I learned along the way. I would tell people or what I learned is never give up even when you hear a thousand no long as you get that one yes it’s worth every blood and sweat and tears you have cried to get to where you at now. What I want people to know about my brand and my story is that my brand is family meaning that I put my heart I put my love I put my passion I put myself in my brand. My brand shows people that you can have fun, laughter, enjoyment, peace, and comfort. Dinner at my table or sit at my table and it feel like that you’re at home or you have took a trip to what grandmother or your aunt’s used to cook. So when you in that moment at that pacific time it will takes you back to what you use to know when families used to get together. It’s like we having holiday meals every time you sit at my kitchen table.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well if my best friend was visiting for a week. First I would let them you know the basics of them unpack get comfortable wind down. The thing is Fort Worth Dallas have so many things to offer but one of the places I would take them. Let’s start with Fort Worth you have like 7th Street or Montgomery Ward plaza area. Where there’s so many restaurant, clubs, little shops that you can go to a shop at. You can even go to Dallas where you have deep ellum area. Where you can go bar hopping food eatery it’s so much to do here in Dallas to get good drinks and I can name several eatery places throughout DFW area. Yes so you can go to like the Wabi House which has a good ramen noodles and drinks. Chef’s Points which they have amazing food. All in the Fort Worth. Dallas has Pecan Lodge barbecue which is oh my God amazing as well you have True Kitchen and Kocktails everything on the menu is a must-have. Also just to give you another inside of Fort Worth is that you can go check out the zoo. We have one of best zoos in Texas. The museums the Fort Worth stockyard.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can name a few people, just to name a few. I would like to recognize Darryl Thomas Jr he runs his own organization called Size of a Man. I’m also a young man Cristian Zarate he own his own coffee roastery business. Last but not least is I would say the mentorship and the love will come from my family.
