We had the good fortune of connecting with April and Jason Sapp and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi April and Jason, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Even though it is scary and I wouldn’t recommend taking a risk without really thinking it through with all your important people first, I would say risks are essential. You have to take leaps of faith in your life and business that will transform you forever. If no one took risks back in the day how would we ever know you could sit on a plane for 2 hours to get to your destination rather than 9 hours in a car? So many good things have happened in our business because we took a risk and trusted what our gut was telling us. With much prayer and consideration action needed to happen next. We are now able to work full time as a husband and wife photography team all because we said yes!

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a husband and wife team that photograph weddings for a living. We absolutely love what we do and feel like it is almost more fun than work at times. We get lost in it and that is a good thing. We also get to work together and re-live our wedding day almost every other week! Helping others get the most out of their big day is a major win for us!! We are your go to everything people on the wedding days. Just say the word and we got you!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love the downtown area as there are so many things to do and see. Of course the museums and dallas zoo for the littles but other than that we like Addison area for coffee shops and attending concerts and events in Deep Ellum.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In our story we cannot help but thank you parents enough for taking us to church when we were younger and building in us a strong faith and foundation. They set the stage for us with their hard work ethic and relationships with each other and with God. We are stronger, more resilient, faithful and wiser because of them! We have learned to not quit or give up on our dreams just because things get hard, we push through the pain and keep going!
