Inspired by a wide variety of storytellers from Billie Holiday, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse to The Beatles and Dolly Parton, Anya has always been enticed by singers who tell stories with their voices. Drawing on influences from the past, Anya strives to reinvent the wheel, blending multiple styles and genres while singing tales of life, love and the navigation of everyday chaos.
Music has always been in Anya Randall Nebel’s blood, perhaps passed down from her father’s cousin who was a vocalist in the 1950s group The Orioles, or from her upbringing in a middle-class black family, where her mother and grandmother surrounded her with impactful music of all genres. Discovering her voice at just 5 years old, Anya was always destined to sing. As a classically trained soprano, much of her career has been spent in musical theater, but now she is leaving behind her theatrical roots to embrace her true artistry, breaking away from restrictions and instead experimenting with anything that connects with her, from jazz and R&B to rock and roll and EDM.

Currently in the studio, Anya is working on an EP of classical music, reinvented with an EDM soundscape, leaning into a fusion of sonic worlds, with her sights set on a collaboration next summer. On December, 8th of 2023, Anya released her EP ‘RANDOM’, which is available on all streaming platforms. Her creativity doesn’t end there, though; April 2024 will see the release of her album ‘Bacharach Reimagined: The Songs of Burt Bacharach’, an ode to a songwriter who has greatly influenced Anya over the years. Anya Randall Nebel is on a mission to prove that she has the power and the talent to stand on her.
