We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonia Passalacqua and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonia, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Being able to experience it with my Mom! Back in May of 2023, I got laid off from my job at Meta. I knew I wanted to become a creator and that had been on my heart for the longest time. While I want looking for my next role, I had the opportunity of spending more time with my family that summer. In June of 2023, my mom and I started making videos together just for pure fun, and to our surprise they really blew up! We love making videos about fashion, beauty, advice and I think the fact you see such a strong bond between a mother and daughter is the reason why our account has been successful! I am privileged with the family I have and I am proud I get to share them with the world!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I have worked in corporate for awhile now. In Washington D.C. I was working for Meta, I took 6 months off before jumping into a new role in the same field and then I moved to Dallas to be closer to my boyfriend and subsequently the new role I was starting. Throughout that time, I also started posting on social media about my day to day life with my Mom who truly is the star of the show. I am now at a point where I love my career and I love being able to create content on the side with my biggest role model, my Mom! Its always been my dream to have a career and be a creator but it definitely wasn’t always easy getting there. But I truly cant take any of the credit, my life, my career, my boyfriend are all things I’ve always prayed about since I was very little.. All the glory to God!

I moved to Washington D.C. to persue a career in Policy my senior year of college. I graduated from Florida International University. After 3 years of living in the district and working for non profit think tanks, I landed a role that forever changed the course of my life at 24 working for (at the time) Facebook (now called Meta). This opportunity truly opened my eyes to the world of social media creators and entrepreneurship. I was privileged to work on a team of incredible women who pioneered the importance of social media in our creator economy and small business ecosystem. Throughout my 2 years at Meta I learned so much about how many opportunities there are in social media, you truly can connect with the whole world, show your passion and turn it into a business, isnt that the epitome of the American dream? The same dream many of our parents have prayed for us to have moving to the United States for a better opportunity. So when we heard of the layoffs that were coming, I knew my true calling was to be a creator. I wanted to talk about my life, where im from, show who I get to do this life with, show my passions, and maybe along the way someone can relate to my story.

It was hard becoming a creator at first because you really just have to start posting about… anything…When I started posting I had a tinge of embarrassment because im sure most of the people who followed me who actually knew me thought what I was doing was cringy and weird. I would be so confident telling people that I wanted to become a creator and I always got a “cutesy* response about it or being told I was a “little influencer”. My family, my friends and my boyfriend would truly be the only people that took my dream of being a creator seriously. Once my mom and I started making videos together and they TOOK OFF, we were viral for many many months is when all my embarrassment went out the window. She has always been the life of the party, and truly a lot more extraverted than I am. We both love making videos but without her support we wouldn’t be -Anto and Caro-. Of course now being creators together we sometimes clash over the vision of the account or what videos we should and shouldn’t make. How we should and shouldn’t do things. But at the end of the day being able to experience this with my mom has been the best blessing.

I am incredibly blessed that I still get to grow my career I worked so hard for and be a creator.

Thank you God! Thank you mom, dad, Elio, my whole family, my best friends.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take all of my friends to Bishop Arts! I grew up as a third culture kid, between, Chile, Switzerland, Iowa and Miami. Whenever someone asks me where I am from I always say Miami (as to not bore them with the details). Miami has my heart. and Bishop Arts is probably the closest thing to “Miami esq” I have seen in Dallas. Not to mention, most of the shops in Bishop Arts are Women Owned Small Businesses, I love supporting small businesses.

We most likely will start by eating at Paradiso in Bishop Arts, then head to all the local shops in the area for some fun shopping! 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dedicating this article to God above all, my mom, family, best friends and supportive boyfriend who never doubted me for one second.
