We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony John Amyx and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony John, so before we jump into specifics about your story and work, let’s start higher level. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned up to this point in my life is achievement can be accomplished as a result of trying to avoid something someone does not want to be. And when avoiding something you don’t want to be becomes your driver, it sets you up for a world of pain later on. Let me explain. One may become “successful” because deep down they don’t feel good enough. As a result of this deep “feeling” of feeling not good enough, they go to work to prove to someone they respect that they are good enough. The very thought of “not being good enough” is their driver to succeed. The problem with this being the driver of their success is they will “succeed” and still feel not good enough. And many High Achievers keep achieving attempting to fill the avoid deep within their soul and they’re never able to. Why is this? Because it defies the Law of Being. The Law of Being states the world will give you exactly that which you are at your Core. And your Core consists of the thoughts and feelings you hold on predominatly. So to stay with our example here – if someone is attempting to create success to avoid the “feeling” of feeling “not good enough” no matter what they accomplish – the world will continue to give them what they are at their Core. More opportunities to express not good enough. So the lesson here is to become extremely aware of why you are doing something. Are you doing or creating something in order to prove, justify or defend something? If so, understand the world will continue giving you opportunities to express as the thing you don’t want to be. Learn to shift your way of being so you are creating something because you simply “choose” to do the thing. That is all. You do something because you choose to do it. Realize you have nothing to prove or defend. You are worthy because you exist. Period. I’ve learned when we create from that Core place, one experiences more peace and profits along their journey.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a Life and Business Growth Strategist. Many people don’t know what that means so I’ll keep it simple — I help people have more peace, power, and profits in their lives. Typically I work with most entrepreneurial type people. I like to call them Salmon. Those are the people who are usually swimming upstream, while the fish settle for their mediocre, boring lives. And if that offends you — then you’re not a Salmon. 😉 For the past two years, Hubspot has listed me as one of the Top Business Coaches in the world, which is pretty cool. I believe what sets me apart from many other “coaches” is I know a business cannot grow sustainably without looking deep into one’s personal life. Many want to believe they can keep the two worlds (business and personal) separate. I’m here to tell you – you cannot. The integration of life and business is kind of like an engine and this engine has 5 cylinders. My good friend, Jonathan Heston, calls it the Success Engine. The five cylinders consist of: Faith (your connection to God, Spirit, Source, Universe, whatever name you want to call it), Family (your close family ties and ties with friends as well), Fitness, Finance (personal and business) and Fun. The thing about an engine is it will run with a blown cylinder. Yet it’s just high inefficient. It’s burns through a lot of fuel and it’s really stressful. Yet if all 5 cylinders are firing properly, the engine is powerful, generates a massive amount of momentum and is a ton of fun to use. So looking at Life and Business holistically is what sets me apart. Another thing is I truly believe their are multiple paths up the mountain. So what may be a win for you in your Fitness category, may not be a win for me. I’m all about coaching someone to their own, individual, unique purpose and potential. So I don’t use some cookie cuter formulaic approach to coaching. I coach the person. Period. One of the things I’m most excited about right now is Project SHIFT. It’s an online personal and business development program designed to shift someone at a fundamental Core level. This game about creating results requires a two-pronged approach consisting of who someone is Being and what they are Doing. It’s kind of like riding a bicycle up a mountain. Every entrepreneur is headed to the top of some self-imposed mountain of “results.” It’s very natural. Yet most people are attempting to ride to the top of their self-imposed mountain with only one pedal on their bicycle. Which is typically the Doing Pedal. This is all about the tactics, tools, and strategies to “success.” Can they make it to the top with one pedal? I’m sure they can, yet it’s exhausting and a lot harder than if they had two pedals. So what are the two pedals of the bicycle? They are the Art of Being and the Science of Doing. Many cultures in the East have mastered the Art of Being and many of us here in the West are catching on to this. Many cultures here in the West have certainly mastered the Science of Doing. Yet, I’m here to tell you, true Peace, Power and sustainable Profits are found in the intersection of the Art of Being and the Science of Doing. And Project SHIFT is a 12 week, online course designed to fundamentally SHIFT someone at the Being Level, which impacts everything they are doing. For the past three years, I’ve been working with my private clients on this stuff and Project SHIFT is the first time I’m opening up the timeless principles, scientific truths and spiritual experiences to anyone in the world. We have 37 people going through the 12 Week BETA Experience right now and their results are blowing my mind. Many ask how I’ve gotten to where I am today? Like how did I become named as one of the Top 10 Business Coaches in the world? That’s a great question? It’s been a lot of trial and error and me living and pushing the edges of my own comfort zone, over and over again. I feel like I experience about 10 years of growth in a year. Every year. When I first started into this online business game back in 2009, I didn’t know I would be a coach. All I knew is I wanted to create a business where I could work from anywhere in the world, as long as I had a laptop and internet connection. This desire lead to me jumping into the game of social media marketing in 2011. I saw the wave coming and I rode it. After creating a one-man social media marketing agency, I had 23 clients on a recurring basis and I burn out and hired my first coach in 2012. His name was Garrett J. White. He helped me to start taking what I was doing for clients and start teaching people. This was my transition into the online business coaching game. Over the years, I started to realize I could give everyone access to the exact same skillsets and mindsets to win their game of “success” and yet, some would get results and some wouldn’t. This drove me crazy because I like to see people winning. I wanted to figure out why one group of people with the skillsets and mindsets would go out to make 6-Figures in a week and others who would apply the same tactics and strategies wouldn’t. And questioning this lead me to discover and understand the connection between the Being and Doing that I spoke about earlier. That’s why now I will only guide someone if they are willing to go all-in on both. Expansion is never about either/or. It’s about And/Also.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was coming to Dallas, TX I would take them to Ida Claire for brunch and some tasty coffee. Then we’d roll over to Vitruvian Park in Addison, TX for a walk. It’s one of my favorite hidden spots in the DFW Metroplex. When you’re there it feels like you are lost and surrounded by nature, yet you’re right in the heart of everything. 🙂 After that, I’d take them over to my favorite little butcher shop in Richardson, TX called Deep Cuts to pick up some Wagyu Rib Eyes. Then head back to my place to grill out, have some scotch and probably catch a UFC card. 😉 A few of my other favorite places in DFW are: – Murrel Park in Flower Mound for epic hiking. – Communion Coffee and Cafe in Richardson. Some of the best coffee in Dallas IMO. – The Flying Saucer in Addison. Their pretzels are some of the best! – Guy Mezger’s Combat Sports Club for a solid work out with wonderful people

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s so many people I could name. Yet, I will choose one. My father.
