We had the good fortune of connecting with Anshu Bansal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anshu, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Dentistry is a growing profession and working for a corporate was a very stagnant and routine work. So I started taking various courses and decided to learn a skill set every year , like Invisalign, sleep dentistry, implants etc. I am very happy with my professional growth. During Covid everything was shut and it gave me lot of time to think and I realized how much geriatric population has increased over the years and Oral health is the last thing any caregiver is thinking about. We have known that oral health is a major part of physical health as bacteria from oral cavity can travel and cause systemic disease. Also lots of time oral findings are a precursor to systemic disease diagnosis. I started looking for options and I found that geriatric house call dentistry was a great platform to start what I have been thinking about.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I don’t know what sets me apart, that would be a question my patients can answer. Every patient I see is a unique individual so I don’t think it’s a good idea to treat them just looking at 32 teeth. These 32 teeth are a part of the body and if a patient has high BP, diabetes , anxiety, depression etc, it affects the oral health. It is very important to set realistic goals with patient in mind and not just treatment of teeth. I see myself as a health care provider and basic nutrition and life style coaching is a part of all my treatments. There are several ways to reach a goal and I let the patient decide which route they choose after I have given them all options. Sometimes patients get frustrated by all the questions I ask about their health and I would then patiently explain them the correlation between oral cavity and systemic health. Patience is the key, I never myself or the patient. I have a relationship with all my patients where hold my hand and pledge never to do wrong with them and treat with the best of my ability. I get paid for my services, we don’t sell treatment, ids my mantra.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a homebody. I like home cooked food and love to go out for walks and hikes. Food and places are secondary, a good company makes anything and everything interesting and fun.
