We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Childress and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The “idea” behind my business was the FEELING you get when you’re sitting in my chair. I wanted to create a space that people could come to and immediately feel at ease and comfortable to just be their authentic selves! I wanted a place that was fun and inviting. I ultimately want people to leave the salon and REMEMBER not only how amazing their hair was when they left, but more importantly the exceptional experience that comes along with AC Beauty Artistry. I love adding fun touches here and there that are special and memorable! For example, with every color service you get a hot towel treatment as well as a relaxing head/neck massage. We also offer fun, complimentary “Cocktail of the Month” drinks & cookies! Like I said, it’s all about the experience!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When it comes to my business, I’m most proud of the growth. When I opened my first suite, I was absolutely TERRIFIED. Having your own business is a lot of work and I knew it would be a lot of work but it truly is the best decision I ever made! Being able to be your absolute self, create a space that not only represents you as an individual but your business and what it stands for is really amazing! I love watching new ideas come to life and having clients come in and notice the little things and absolutely LOVING them is what keeps me going! I love to change it up, keep things fresh and exciting and my clients seem to love it just as much!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The stockyards for sure! There’s so much history there and I just find it so interesting! I’m a huge brunch gal so any brunch places located downtown are SO GOOD!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
@ rusticpaletteandcompany on Instagram! She does AMAZING handmade engraved woodwork designs, decor and so much more! It’s truly amazing the amount of detail and time she puts into every piece! She offers tons of seasonal/holiday gifts & decor as well as custom orders! She can pretty much make anything you could think of!!
