We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Fry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, what’s your definition for success?
I have found as a business owner, wife and now mother, the definition of success changes and evolves constantly. When I first started barre3 Richardson, success meant having a thriving business and growing a community of health where every body matters. However, with success, comes sacrifice. While growing my business, my personal life suffered. After almost three and half years of owning and operating my studio, I’m proud to say success looks different. Today, my original mission of teaching our clients to be balanced and body and empowered from within is still alive and well, but success is also giving myself enough space to be present with my family and friends outside of the studio.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our small but mighty fitness studio is redefining what success in fitness means for our clients through body positivity that empowers each individual from within. In the words of our franchise’s founder, Sadie Lincoln, “Instead of working out to change, we workout to be confident and empowered in our bodies just as they are in this very moment.” This mission is far bigger than myself or my team. It’s my biggest motivation for what I do every single day. There is no secret to my success. It comes down to hard work and serving my clients and my team just as I would serve my family or my closest friends. I have an incredibly selfless husband who has supported myself and our son while also growing his own career. It truly takes a village. The biggest lesson I have learned in my journey as a small business owner, is that everything is temporary. There are always going to be peaks and valleys but as long as you stay true to your mission, you will always get to the other side.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My studio would be nothing without our dedicated team of 17 incredible women who work alongside me every single day. They make it happen. They show up for our clients and deliver on our mission of making sure every single person that walks in our doors feels seen and served.
