We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Vargo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Being a mother has always and will continue to always be the priority. But I’ve found, over time, that balancing my work, hobbies, and creative endeavors has become easier when you have a strong support system around you to encourage and uplift you. I also think bringing your kids along is not only helpful for you but teaches them how to think creatively and express themselves in creative ways.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am definitely a work in progress. There are things that I’ve done and accomplished that I’m incredibly proud of but this isn’t the end. I want to continue to inspire people to creatively express themselves with the clothes they wear! That’s my goal right now. If I can help just one person step out of their comfort zone and wear something they’ve maybe always been nervous to or help someone transform their wardrobe, then I’d feel accomplished. I know what fashion has done for me and I want others to experience that as well.
I’ve also found a way to connect my love for fashion and my love for writing.
As I’ve grown up, something that I’ve learned is that if you love doing something then it doesn’t matter how many followers you have or how much recognition you receive.
Never stop doing what you’re passionate about.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Fort Worth! I would probably first want to grab a coffee and taco at Cafecito. The cold brew is absolutely amazing. Then I’d want to have a walk somewhere like the Kimbell or Sundance. Next we, of course, have to thrift. Two of my favorite spots are Studio 74 Vintage, which has the most incredible selection of clothes and bags. Also JunkerVals is so fun and the owner is incredibly welcoming. We’ll be hungry by then so it’s lunch at Carshon’s, my favorite deli in Fort Worth. Later in the day I’d show them the Stockyards, because it’s classic Fort Worth, and catch some live music at Second Rodeo.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give shoutout to my husband who always pushes me to take risks, my teachers who are there to expand my way of thinking, and fashion icons who continue to share their personal styles on social media, in magazines, and on the runway. We are here to inspire one another and support the gifts and talents we all have!
