We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Motta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from El Paso tx originally but have been in Fort Worth about 8 years.
I grew up with an artistic background and was brought into the tattoo industry very young by my father who is also an artist and owned his own shop. I grew up drawing, making his stencils, watching him tattoo and I instantly grew such love for the industry.
So thankful for all the art that surrounded me growing up, it has definitely impacted me and has shaped who I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Tattooing in my home town was always comforting being constantly surrounded by people I have known for years. Traveling had opened my interest and I started wondering how much more I could grow, where else I could go and thrive. In my ‘comfort zone’ I made the hardest decision of my life and decided to move to Fort Wort in 2015. Starting over was one of the hardest decisions I had ever made, rebranding myself, finding new clients all while also trying to figure out what style of tattooing was the most fun for me. I passed out cards everywhere I went, met as many people as I could and I can honestly say all the effort and energy I put in paid off. In 2020 my husband and I opened up a private studio in North Fort Worth. Ink N Beauty Tattoo we named it. I love our studio because it gives clients a more personal one on one time with us. They don’t have to worry about people walking in wanting estimates or anything disturbing their session. I love being able to give that to my client and make them feel like my top priority for the day. I am so proud of everything we have been able to accomplish up to this point, there is always growth happening with us. We are constantly taking seminars and trying to learn as much as we can to keep up with the industry in order to offer our clients the best service. It is not easy owning your business, being the manager, advertiser, sales person ect, But with hard work and dedication it is the best decision we ever made for ourselves. We have learned to never give up or doubt ourselves based on other peoples opinions. So many people will tell you that it’s too hard and to make the safe decision, but sometimes you You must take a risk. I would love for the world to know that our brand is nothing without our amazing clients and we strive every day to represent our clients the best way we can giving them exactly what they are looking for.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love taking visitors downtown Fort Worth, showing them the stockyards and a little bit of the history about Fort Worth. Give them options like the Dallas Cowboys stadium, aquariums, botanical gardens. After all the tourist areas I like to take them to a good bbq spot like panther city bbq 10/10 recommend. Then for more of the nightlife scene, I will take them to 7th street. There’s are so many cool bars like ‘dirty laundry’ a cute speakeasy bar where you have to walk through a washing machine to get to the bar. I personally love dancing so another night I will definitely take them dancing and love going to ‘La chingona’. A secret bar in a bar called ‘EL chingon’.
Traveling to Dallas I love another place called vidorra an amazing restaurant and after hours location. Fort Worth has so much scenery to offer it’s hard to pack it all into one trip, but I am a proud FW resident learning more about this city every day.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Getting serious, I started my apprenticeship under Chicago Rivera out in El Paso owner of ‘The Hive’ An amazing black and gray realism artist.
I had so much support from my city, in the beginning I had endless clients allowing me to practice on them.
My journey was to follow as many artist as I could (nikko hurtado, teresa Andrew’s ) to name a few and find my lane in tattooing.
This career choice gave me freedom and allowed me to travel taking me to places I’m not sure I would have ever gone to. Doing tattoo conventions was such a big step in full immersing myself into the industry. Thank you to my family for always keeping me motivated even through rough times I always had support.
I was blessed to meet my husband in 2015 who also is an amazing black and grey artist. The support from him in my art journey has been amazing.
I’m thankful for all clients new and old tattoo big or small. Every piece has a special part in my story. I say it all the time but I’m so thankful for all the trust I get to create something that lasts forever for y’all! Thank you El PASO thank you FORT WORTH.
