We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Monecia De La Rosa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea Monecia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I truly believe you need to take risks when it comes to business. There is no way to know if you will succeed if you do not even try. Texas Taxes & Insurance was definitely a risk and through the ups and downs the risk was definitely worth it. That one risk that we took changed not only our lives but even those around us.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Texas Taxes & Insurance stands out for two main reasons honesty and educating our clients. I can stand behind the fact that we are always transparent with our clients and have their best interests at heart. We educate them and guide them on all of our services, so that they feel fully confident in doing business with us. Our venture wasn’t easy at the beginning and took time to grow. We realized our clients have been loyal and to refer us because, we continue to provide exceptional customer service. One of our biggest challenges was marketing, due to no time and not having a team. I started going out and meeting with apartments, other business owners, and hired a team so that I could continue to market. Now, we are starting to do more of an online presence and social media marketing, and our business is impressively growing. I’ve learned to balance my personal life with business, lead by setting an example, and to celebrate the small successes of owning a business. I would want the world to know that, Texas Taxes & Insurance truly wants to help and see other small business owners succeed.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For food I would recommend Veracruz Cafe for sure. I love eating their Mole Sauce made from scratch. To hang out you can find me in Heritage District in Irving. There are some beautiful parks and waterfalls, all next to the library to do some reading. If we’re talking getting pampered, I would always recommend Bellas Artes by Lola in Irving TX and Bella MedSpa. They know how to take care of you and have you feeling so fancy. As far as attractions you can’t go wrong with touring downtown Dallas or Ronald Kirk Bridge in Trinity River.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Growing up my family did not have much, and life definitely threw some curveballs at us. Looking back I have to recognize that God carried us through the storms and protected us every step of the way. I thank him for giving me such a courageous, fearless, and strong mother. “Lola” (my mother) is not only my partner in Texas Taxes & Insurance but she also taught me everything I know, including to be a total boss. There are many people and circumstances I can say shaped me to become ambitious and thrive in business but the two most who stand out are my mother and husband. They have helped, guided, and supported me in all aspects of running a business.
