We had the good fortune of connecting with Anavaleria Sosa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anavaleria, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Being a young entrepreneur is something I always had on my vision boards. I knew I wanted to be my own boss and create something for myself that would give me freedom. As soon as I started college I knew the creative side of my personality would be a driving force for my success. I excelled in anything that called for me to use this strength and I didn’t see a reason why not to harness it. So I started my first business, Photohaus Photography. I turned a hobby of mine into a stream of income that I could call my own and I enjoyed being in my creative space. With time my dreams of a creative empire have grown and I have now created Glamhaus Photo Booth to further push this passion project of mine. There are multiple facets to this vision I have for what my creative empire will be and value.
What should our readers know about your business?
Photohaus is my photography business that I am deeply passionate about. As a photographer, my goal is to capture moments uniquely and compellingly. I’ve invested time and resources in mentorship, styled shoots, and equipment to continuously enhance my craft. This commitment has allowed me to grow professionally and creatively, allowing me to offer captivating stories. Additionally, I’ve expanded my business with Glamhaus Photo Booth, an extension of Photohaus. This secondary venture complements my photography services, providing an added dimension to events and celebrations or on its own a special experience for all types of events.
What sets me apart in this business is my ability to connect with clients and create compelling visual stories. I want those who work with me to have a lasting impression via their interactions with me and my images. It’s easy to take a quick photo but it takes passion and enthusiasm to create something memorable. My goal is to provide that experience every time in both my business ventures.
I am extremely proud of myself for not giving up. There have been times when business was not moving anywhere and when I had thought I lost my spark for this dream of mine. Especially when I decided to open Glamhaus Photo Booth with no real reference on what I should be doing. I had to believe in myself and my capability to do research & development, continue to look for inspiration, and learn new ways to revive my photography style. Learning to be an expert in your business and not let imposter syndrome take over has been the best lesson I have learned. It truly changed my trajectory and motivated me more to continue to build relationships and invest in myself thus creating better quality work overall.
I want the world to know that Photohaus and Glamhaus Photo Booth is more than a business; it’s a passion. Behind every photograph and photobooth experience is a commitment to excellence and a genuine love for capturing moments. Photohaus is a brand built on creativity, dedication, and a desire to offer clients something truly special.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would first plan hopefully a concert or Mavs game. I love being in Victory Park and enjoying a show/game. My go-to spot for best eats and margaritas is Miriam’s Cocina Latina right in front of Klyde Warren Park. I’m half Guatemalan/half Mexican and her food just feeds my soul! I also would take them to San Martin a Guatemalan staple off McKinney Ave. I love going to bishop arts to hang. I think there is something for everyone in Bishop now and we could make a day of going in and out of the coffee shops, and boutique stores, eating at Coco’s Fire and Ice, and ending the night with Karaoke at Casanova Lounge (a favorite of mine). Some other activities would be the DMA and North Park for Eataly. There is just so much to explore in Dallas!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this interview to my husband. We are high school sweethearts and no one knows me better than he does. He has supported me throughout all these years by marketing me, recommending clients, investing in me, and giving incredible feedback and critiques to help me grow. I could not have done it without his support and belief in my vision. He truly motivates me to do more in this space I am carving out for myself and to set an example for my little ones as well.
