We had the good fortune of connecting with Amelia Meadows and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amelia, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Girl, adjust your crown and keep going.”
When going into business for yourself you are faced with many obstacles and challenges that can easily derail you from achieving success. There are days when things seem not to be aligning with your plans, you may feel overwhelmed or stressed . This quote reminds me to adjust my mindset and keep pressing towards my goals.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
A little bit about my businesses…
I am the Founder and President of The Mom Tribe ( formerly known as M.E3.M. INC), which is a community created for moms for the purpose of empowering, encouraging, and educating one another in the greatest calling of their life, motherhood. It is our mission to not only grow and cultivate moms to be the best in motherhood, but to also be the best version of themselves in all areas of life: Spiritual, physical, intellectual, financial, vocational, and relational.
I am also the owner of Momz Empowered where I am a development coach helping moms become stronger and more confident in controlling their life and walking in their purpose. I also help moms define and stay accountable to their goals.
I am beyond excited about the visions for both organizations. We have accomplished so much and reached many moms through our events and group sessions. What I am most excited about is the re-branding of The Mom Tribe. God has given me clarity and a new direction for the vision that I know will elevate the organization to the next level. Getting to this point in business has required a lot of discipline mentally and emotionally. There were so many days when things were so overwhelming, especially when you are balancing being a mom, wife and working a full time job. I was drowning in demands and pressures from all of my roles, things were slipping through the cracks and I struggled to keep up. So the best habit I had to develop is time blocking, which is a way of time management that allows you to break up your day into specific goals and tasks. Time blocking allows me to plan and see my days with clarity. I believe that this is a practice that all business owners should possess. Another thing I had to learn is to delegate. Of course it was hard, Pursuing purpose is never easy, but with prayer, discipline, a trusted tribe and a clear plan of action I overcame many challenges and will continue too.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The day has to start with a great breakfast at Old West Cafe, located in Arlington. Then for lunch, since I love a good taco, I highly suggest Santos Tacos located in Crowley, TX. Your tummy will thank you for it. I am also a sucker for Torchy’s Tacos and their margaritas…AMAZING! But if you are in the mood for some Soul Food, Madea’s Down Home Cooking in Everman, TX will not disappoint you.
For the summer sweet tooth, you have to check out Hawaiian Snow Cone stand located in Fort Worth or Cinnaholic on Crockett Row. Both are Amazing!
There are so many places I love to go on 7th Street in Fort Worth. Bars, restaurants, shopping, and pampering is available all in this one area.
For a relaxing evening I like to go to Sundance Square to hangout by the water fountains. There are so many cool places to dine and shop around the square. Other great places to visit
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a huge shout out to my amazing husband Rodney and awesome kiddos Gabrielle, Jordan & Courtney. You all are my motivation, my rocks and my greatest supporters. I could not do this without you.
Rodney, Thank you for always pushing me outside my comfort zone and being my everything during this process.
To my My Sister, Amara, thank you for being a great inspiration, supporter and prayer warrior. My Brother in love Tim, thank you for always being down for whatever and your support. Both of you are always there to fill in the gap and I am grateful for you.
My friends Crystal, LaCarissa, Karissa, Audra and Allyson you ladies inspire me more than you imagine and your unconditional support means a lot.
Thank you Mama Lisa for keeping me accountable spiritually. And to Dr. Kimberly Ellison and Tiara Davis, thank you for being incredible mentors. You both helped build the foundation through all of your workshops and coaching.
Lastly, Thank you to my beautiful Mommy up above. Although, you are not here on earth. your love and humble lessons still empowers me.
