Hi Ameirah, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk plays an important factor in every marketing company’s strategy. It’s important when a client is searching for higher visibility to really step outside of the box and take big leaps towards standing out. For me, the journey of risk-taking began with a monumental leap — leaving behind the security of a “9 to 5” job to pursue my passion for creativity and helping others grow their brands. Launching my own company was perhaps the greatest risk I’ve taken to date. With no external support or backing, I bet everything on myself, using my savings as fuel to ignite the flames of entrepreneurship. It was a leap of faith, driven by a relentless drive to turn dreams into reality and carve a path towards personal and professional fulfillment. I wanted to be able to help companies grow and develop their own brands to become successful.

In embracing risk, I’ve discovered a profound sense of liberation — the freedom to chart my own course, to embrace creativity without constraints, and to redefine success on my own terms. It’s a journey fueled by passion, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. What should our readers know about your business?
I am deeply passionate about empowering women and paving the way for a brighter future for my children and others striving to make a difference in their child’s life. As a mother of four, navigating the entrepreneurial journey solo, launching a women-owned marketing company holds special significance for me. It’s not just about building a successful business; it’s about creating opportunities for other women to thrive and achieve their goals. My main goal in starting Luminara was to support women-owned businesses. As a mother balancing the dual roles of being a mom 24/7 and working, I understand the challenges firsthand. I want to empower others who are navigating this journey. My aim is to help women elevate their brands to the next level and assist them with their marketing needs. Many great businesses fail because they lack the right marketing tools, and I want to change that.

Above all, my children are my driving force and the source of my unwavering determination. I am driven by the desire to create generational wealth and provide them with a tangible example of the rewards of hard work and dedication. By demonstrating that there are no limits to what one can achieve with perseverance and self-belief, I hope to instill in them the values of resilience and ambition.

My journey to this point has been marked by self-teaching, determination, and a relentless pursuit of my passion. Despite the challenges and sacrifices along the way, I have found fulfillment in doing what I love. Through trial and error, I have gained invaluable insights into business operations, identifying areas for improvement and growth. While it may not always be easy to pinpoint what companies are doing wrong, I am committed to leveraging my expertise to guide them toward success. For me, it’s not just about building a business; it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others and leaving a lasting legacy of empowerment and inspiration.

As I navigated the often turbulent waters of company ownership, their unwavering support served as a constant reminder that I was never alone in this endeavor.

Starting one’s own business can be daunting, filled with both excitement and apprehension. However, knowing that I have the unfaltering backing of my loved ones has provided me with a sense of reassurance and confidence to overcome any obstacles that may arise.
