We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In 2017 The Leopard Antler Boutique was created. I started inside my parents business, Cook’s Main Street Mercantile as a vendor who rented a 10×10 spot. At the time I was working full time, My husband was working out of town and we had 2 teen daughters and this was extra income. With hopes and dreams of having our own store front one day.

What should our readers know about your business?
We outfit you wether you are headed to the local game and need Game Day Spirit wear or the outfit for a night out on the town for all ages or the outfit for your family pictures. If you need a gift for that special person for their birthday or a small devotional. We also carry a verity of candles that will have your house smelling good. Check out our mens line that is from a texas based company or American Made knives that are make great gifts for our fellas. We will definitely great you with a smile when you walk in the door and look forward to earning your business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Located north of DFW by 1 & 1/2 hrs Our little town has lots of great places to visit, we are in between 2 great family owned businesses , Cook’s Main Street Mercantile where they have 20+ vendors and lots of treasures. Lovejoy’s on Main is on our other side, definitely need to stop by for lunch. They have delicious soups, sandwiches, quiche, salads and a old fashion soda fountain serving delicious shakes. Another great place to eat is 56 Deli, Reuben Sandwiches, Salads, baked potatoes, or my husbands favorite which is a Fried Bologna Sandwich. Our little downtown has lots more stores that you will definitely want to stop by and Don’t forget to bring your husband and stop in at Past & Blast. It’s one of the best little gun stores around. People come from all over because they have a great selection. Right around the corner is another gem, Sunny Paige Boutique and if your looking for a true Texan outfit stop by Dennards Farm Supply. They can get you in the right pair of boots as well as a cowboy hat and meet all your Ranching needs. We are located 15 minutes from Lake Texoma where it separates the Texas and Oklahoma border, enjoy dinner at Pelican Landing out on the deck over looking the water and sail boats coming and going. If your feeling lucky Visit Windstar or Choctaw Casino they are not to far.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would definitely say I owe all the credit to two people. First, my mom, She has always been my cheerleader as well as a mentor. She has taught me the ropes to managing a small business and how to be a successful entrepreneur. Second, my husband, in 2017 when I mentioned having a small boutique he said let’s do it. I have faith in you and I think it will be fun!
