We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Soukoulis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I don’t believe in work-life balance. The term “balance” suggests a teeter-totter where professional success must come at the expense of personal fulfillment, or vice versa. Instead, I champion work-life harmony. When I’m taking care of myself and serving others authentically, both my personal and professional lives flourish together.

I used to embrace nonstop hustle culture until a health crisis forced me to reevaluate everything before starting my business. My only option was to slow down and apply what I call my “AAAs”: What could I automate, abolish, or assign outward? I stopped believing I needed to work on my weaknesses and instead focused on leveraging my strengths.

Today, I experience constant work-life harmony because I’ve intentionally directed my time, energy, and attention toward what I do best. This approach hasn’t diminished my professional success—it’s enhanced it while simultaneously improving my wellbeing.

What should our readers know about your business?
I launched my practice when I was in the thick of my own healing. I was a finalist for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders then 2 months after being on the brink of fulfilling my childhood dream, my body began to crumble. My heart rate variability plummeted, my energy disappeared, and I was consumed by brain fog. Even getting out of bed felt impossible, let alone completing the bare minimum in my demanding CPA role in private equity.

My body had shifted into survival mode.

Every doctor dismissed my symptoms. Then came Christmas Day—a moment etched in my memory. Looking in the mirror, I didn’t recognize myself. Covered in hives and battling a fever, my gut was distended by four inches, a visible sign of a bacterial pathogen wreaking havoc. I felt utterly broken. I knew in this moment that I had to become part of the solution. That was the day I decided enough was enough. If I wanted to see change, I had to become my own health CEO.

Determined to reclaim my energy and health, I dove head first into extensive research and study, becoming certified in Functional Nutrition & Medicine. Through my own trial and error, I formulated an integrated approach that healed my body, balancing my hormones and gut and restoring my energy and nervous system.
This journey transformed my pain into purpose, and through God’s grace, that purpose became power—not my own power, but divine strength flowing through my work. From there, Souk Systems was born. I help peak performers heal unexplained chronic symptoms like bloat, brain fog, and low energy so that health doesn’t slow them down.

What makes me unique is The U³ System™, which is my 3-step process that combines advanced functional lab testing, customized nutrition, supplementation, and peptide plans, and lifestyle interventions to address health challenges at the root cause:

1. UNCOVER: Identify hidden imbalances and chronic stressors through functional lab testing your doctor likely will not run.
2. UPROOT: Use targeted interventions to systematically eliminate chronic stressors and restore health.
3. UNLEASH: Bio-Optimize your physiology from the inside out to unlock sustained energy, mental clarity, and vitality.

The biggest challenge I faced was walking away from financial security. Leaving a stable career in private equity meant starting over, investing in new education, and building credibility in an entirely different field. What kept me going was remembering that Christmas Day moment—I never wanted anyone else to feel as helpless as I did when conventional medicine failed me.

My business has taught me that our greatest struggles often reveal our greatest gifts. My health crisis became my most powerful credential. When clients come to me after seeing countless practitioners with no results, they know I understand their frustration because I’ve lived it. This creates a level of trust that transcends any certification.

I am most proud of the transformations that my clients have experienced. Real results and real breakthrough. I’ve watched executives who could barely make it through their workday reclaim their energy and leadership presence. I’ve seen entrepreneurs whose brain fog was sabotaging their vision regain mental clarity and strategic thinking. Women who had been told their symptoms were “just stress” or “just aging” find answers through our testing and regain their vitality. These aren’t just health improvements—they’re life transformations that ripple through careers, relationships, and purpose. There’s nothing more fulfilling than witnessing someone move from surviving to thriving, especially when they’d nearly given up hope.

What I want people to know about Souk Systems is that we don’t just treat symptoms—we transform lives. The work we do ripples beyond physical health into career performance, relationships, and overall life satisfaction. My mission is to redefine what’s possible when peak performers have the physiological foundation to match their ambition.

I want everyone to know that the thief comes to steal our energy, kill our joy, and destroy our relationships, physical health and purpose, but we were made to live life to the full and to live it abundantly. Without your health nothing else matters. To optimize your life, you must first optimize your health!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Dallas for a week, I’d create an experience that balances my local favorites with quintessential Dallas attractions while honoring my love for wellness, movement, and meaningful connection.
Our mornings would begin with mindfulness and movement. We’d start with a rejuvenating class at Ritual One Yoga, where the instructors create the perfect balance of challenge and restoration. Post-yoga, we’d grab artisanal matcha lattes and take a soul-nourishing stroll along the Katy Trail, where Dallas’s energy and natural beauty coexist. These morning rituals would give us time for those deep conversations that only happen when you’re moving side by side.

As movement is central to my life, I’d introduce my friend to my favorite dance communities. We’d experience the infectious energy of Drip Dance with Tara on Tuesday and make the worthwhile journey to Frisco on Thursday for Make it Pro with Jennifer Amburn.

Between our yoga sessions and dance classes, I’d also introduce my friend to Evolve Human Optimization Labs, my go-to wellness sanctuary. We’d spend a refreshing afternoon at this “wellness playground” experiencing their signature contrast therapy—alternating between the toasty Norwegian sauna and the invigorating cold plunge. Since recovery is just as important as movement, we’d take advantage of their red light therapy sessions to reduce inflammation and accelerate recovery from our active days. This balance of energizing workouts and intentional recovery perfectly captures my approach to sustainable wellness—pushing your limits while giving your body the tools it needs to rebuild stronger.

For culinary experiences, I’m selective about dining out since I primarily fuel my body with home-cooked meals prepared with locally-sourced ingredients. However, I’d make exceptions for a few extraordinary dining experiences. Nick and Sam’s would top our list for an indulgent evening of exceptional service and cuisine—it’s my signature spot when I have visitors in town. We’d also reserve an evening at Uchi for their innovative take on Japanese cuisine that consistently surprises the palate. For our casual dining experience, we’d visit either True Food Kitchen or Origin Bar and Kitchen for their thoughtful approach to clean eating.

Dallas shines as an entertainment hub, so we’d secure tickets to whatever sporting event, concert, or performance aligned with our visit timing. The city’s creative pulse is something I love sharing with visitors.
Between these scheduled highlights, we’d retreat to my high-rise apartment, where the Dallas skyline would serve as our backdrop for brainstorming sessions, creative collaborations, and vision-casting for our futures. These unstructured moments—relaxing by the pool or sharing ideas while the city lights twinkle below—often become the most cherished memories of any visit.

This itinerary reflects what I value most: nourishing movement, thoughtful nutrition, creative expression, and meaningful connection—all experienced against the dynamic backdrop of Dallas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
That’s a loaded question because there are so many puzzle pieces that led to the beautiful mosaic where I am today. However, my family is truly the backbone to my success. Even when I came to them with this crazy idea to leave my very stable, secure career in private equity to start a business in functional medicine and nutrition, they believed in and supported me.

My parents and grandparents all sacrificed tremendously so I could be in my position today. They instilled the work ethic, drive, and relentless passion it takes to flow into your greatness as a creative and entrepreneur. As the first Soukoulis to graduate from college, I don’t take that responsibility and honor lightly as I pave the way for generations to come in my family lineage.

It also wouldn’t be on brand for me not to share a book that was a catalyst for my story. “Burn the Boats” by Matt Higgins showed me that there’s no ceiling on ambition and hesitation will kill more dreams than speed ever will. Thank you, Matt, for breathing life into so many female entrepreneurs, including myself.
