We had the good fortune of connecting with Alynna Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alynna, what role has risk played in your life or career?
If you’ve lived this human experience life for even one minute, you know life just happens. Things don’t go according to plan, obstacles such as lack of experience, lack of resources or unforeseen change in operations can push you further away from your intentional goals.
From Shoutout Miami, “Life is an endless cycle of pursuing them and working hard until they come into existence, despite countless setbacks and failures. It is important to get comfortable with the fact that you may not see the reasons for your struggles now but what is meant for you will not pass you by.”
Risk- taking is also essential to find our path and develop ourselves. This plays a big role in who we desire to become in this life, which at the same time comes from understanding who we don’t want to be.
But by being open to new opportunities and experiences we will be entering into a journey to not only understand what works for us but also the things that don’t align to our principles or resources.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a big advocate of spending your life doing what you really love.
I am a full time REALTOR and Mobile Notary. I serve all of Dallas and Collin county. I love real estate because of the relationship building and problem solving. If you’ve ever dealt with real estate, you know what I mean.
I am also an Event Coordinator at The Venue at Boyd Farm in Lavon, TX. We handle weddings, quinceaneras, corporate events and live performances.
My overall passion and purpose in life is to create art and build a creative community to offer support and resources for other aspiring artists. I mainly do acrylic paintings and photography.
While most of my days vary between all of my ventures, I wouldn’t want my life any other way! I wake up to do the things that truly bring me peace of mind and joy.
Now, none of this happened overnight. I took an entire year to save up 12 months worth of my bills so that I could leave my 9-5 to take a risk on myself and get uncomfortable. Today I am standing confident that I made one of the best decisions for my life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would show them Dallas’ Art District. Filled with amazing artwork, best tasting food trucks and great music.
One of my favorite burger joints is in Deep Ellum, Twisted Root!
My other favorite place is the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Anytime they have a Mozart or Beethoven show, I am there!
Another go to stop is the Fabrication Yard in Trinity Groves. This is a legal graffiti space and the art done they’re nothing short of awe-inspiring.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
City Missions – Rock the Socks – Cherie Privett
I’ve had the pleasure of having Cherie as one of my mentors during my transition of leaving my 9-5 to pursue entrepreneurship.
Rock the Socks is a program where we gather donated crew socks, hygiene items, tents and clothing for our housing challenged friends in our community.
Cherie and her husband, Kevin, started with passing out a few socks on Christmas 2019 to homeless individuals in Downtown Dallas and has now collected just under 10,000 pairs of socks in 2021.
They took the risk to JUST START and now their team is impacting so many struggling families with SOCKS!
