We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyceson-Grace Eke and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alyceson-Grace, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’m a devoted believer in self-empowerment and the power of confidence. The teachings within these themes apply directly to a person’s education – and I don’t mean how much schooling you’ve been through. Rather, I mean, your knowledge of self and the world around you. My goal is to provide the resources that allow everyday people to feel empowered and confident. Combine that with my lifelong love of the elegance and power of royalty, and The ECON Queen was born.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The ECON Queen stands out from other educational services because of its aggressive focus on the learner’s sense of self. At the root of any supportive service – tutoring, financial coaching, etc. – is not the faith of the educator in the learner, but the faith of the learner in themselves.
The vision of The ECON Queen is to support marginalized communities in their education journey by bridging gaps caused by institutional failures. The challenge with institutional failures is that they suggest that our societal systems do not have true faith in the success of certain people, and with societal systems underlining our interpersonal engagements and our excessive consumption of media, it leads to learners giving up on themselves due to the institutional shortfall. It does not have to be this way, and we seek to prove this.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Freeplay in Denton – If you like Retro style environments. Taqueria Guanajuato – Mexican Restaurant, I could eat there daily.
I recommend visiting Historic Downtowns in any city you go to. Those are the most exciting places I’ve seen.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to a candle and fragrance business in the DFW Area: Cynthi’s Scents, managed by Kameron Miles and her Aunt Cynthia. They provide organic yet affordable beauty items.
