We had the good fortune of connecting with Alison Viktorin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alison, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my blog, www.alisonviktorin.net, for all the Mommas out there that don’t have time to research different skincare products and procedures. I do all the work, so they don’t have to. If there is anything new and different, in the World of Beauty, I put it in my blog. As parents, we can become so busy that we don’t have time to deal with any extras…enter my blog, where I give the latest advice and do all the work, I even have links that make it easy to purchase the products I mention. I like to call myself a #truthfluencer. I like to give truly honest reviews. I want to help make feeling and looking your best, as easy as possible.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been an on-camera & voice over actress my whole life. I have a degree in Drama and have been quite successful. My son started middle school and we found out that he needed more emotional support for his specific needs. I decided to retire my on-camera work, so I could focus more on my family…buuut, I still needed a creative outlet. Making videos and writing a blog has been such a great way to share my creativity with the world. It has allowed me more flexibility to be there for my family when a need arises. It was not easy to retire from something I’ve done my entire life, but it was the best decision at this time in my life. I find there is always beauty to be shown, whether from pictures or video and I have a great desire to share it with those in my community. From skincare products/procedures to decor or nature. I find beauty in just being alive and find being able to share it, via instagram or my website, fuels my creative energy. If you need a laugh or would like to learn something new, you can follow me on instagram: @alisonviktorin.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Southlake is a great city to call home. It’s big enough to find great shopping and dining, but small enough to run into friends at the grocery store. I would take my friend for some beauty treatments at North Texas Med Spa, some acupuncture or massage at Ray Chernly Acupuncture, some lunch at Moxie’s, and dinner at Del Frisco’s Grille. One day, we could do all kinds of shopping at Southlake Town Square. And the next, go for a hike at Bob Jones Nature Preserve. My favorite thing to do, since it’s winter, is sit by my fireplace–that has officially been updated with golden crystals and a remote–with a glass of wine. There is so much to do in this great city, I call Home.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my supportive husband. He’s always cheering on my videos and interested in learning about the new products I find.
