We had the good fortune of connecting with Aleyni Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aleyni, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Having my own has allowed me to open my very own avenues. I have recently thrown a Give Back event in my hometown, Winnsboro Louisiana. I teamed up with make up artist, hairstylist, and barbers to give back services. We also donated clothing to people in need. I teamed up with my cousin who has started her own food truck. This allowed us to give back food. You will be amazed what a fresh wash, a light face beat, a meal, a new wardrobe, or fresh can do in someone’s life. Your confidence is boosted, out of the bad one good thing can change a perspective. I am blessed to be able to team up with Jonathan and Freeenn’s palace downtown to do more events. I didn’t have a guide on being where I am today but I feel it’s my responsibility to pass it on.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am here because I did not quit. I have also tended to my mental health. Learning to balance home and business is not easy but eventually you will find your pace. I believe you are set apart in the beginning when you are chosen for your purpose. You may feel different than most, standing out just by being yourself , or having the ability to connect with a lot of people. I believed in following my own path and not what other people had planned for me. Once you find that everything gravitates to you and that sets me apart. I am thankful for the clientele I have. I proud of the steps I have taken to be a better professional for my business. It’s not an easy road but once you have learned the obstacles that unlocks a new level. The more lessons you learn, the higher you go. Deep down we all know what we need to do as far as not going out as much and focusing. You can be choosing to hang around the wrong people and retain bad habits. Those things you have to give up in order to feel lighter to fly higher. Also learning the healthiest way to do that. Those are lessons I continue to learn and value.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a true foodie so I love to set up a time to have. Some days I love to start off light and fresh. We will make a stop to Kapo_theguru to get my sea moss drinks. We will drink those through the weekend to stay healthy. When I’m feeling spicy I will go to Vidorras or Gloria’s for brunch. Moxies is always a guaranteed move as well. We will make a stop at Klyde Warren park to get some fresh hour or grab another drink. Dressing up for dinner takes time and a bomb mirror so we would get a room at The Omni or Virgin Hotel. They are great for comfort, going out, and eating out. My dinner choices are Moarch, Komodo, Del Friscos, Oceanaire, STK, TAO’, or Carbone. My idea of fun is Andretti’s, Punch Bowl Social, and so many places to explore down town, uptown, and north Dallas. You can head towards Arlington and have a great time as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Everyone who has given me an opportunity deserve recognition. I appreciate the lessons taught to make me a better woman. Everything that I have gone through has pushed me to continue to grow. I will continue to succeed and be kind. Great things come to those who wait, listen, learn, and teach. The journey has not been easy but worth it. I recognize my village for helping with my daughter and supporting me. My clients who I have bonded with and supported me as well.
