We had the good fortune of connecting with Aleyni Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aleyni, what role has risk played in your life or career?
There is no reward without risk. Taking risk is the hardest growing pain of life but if you heal just right it turns into something beautiful. I took a risk and graduated from Grambling state university. I took a risk and became E4 in the national guard. I took risk and retained my cosmetology license at Ogle Beauty School. While graduating in January, in Long Beach, from my Beacon Elite student program. Let’s not forget being a single mother. Risk is worth the reward.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Aleyni’s Hair and Beauty comes with its own category of the hair industry. It comes with integrity, history, love, and communication. Unknowing I’ve been preparing for these times being 13 in junior high braiding hair. The ability to not only slay a head but project positive energy into people is great. I love catering to hard working women and men. Making a mother of 2 gain something she lost because she puts everyone first. The entrepreneur that doesn’t have time to make an appointment but will be there 10 minutes early with a frappe. The working from home ladies that bring their lab tops. My sweet nurses that fall asleep in the dryer. I love to be apart of making someone feel great about themselves. I love what I do and it’s not easy. Things change and my experience has allowed me to think ahead and prepare for any challenges. With every change growth should follow.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let’s lay things out then. First she would get here at night because sleep is a must. The next day brunch of course. Wake up to music and light fruit before we go. We would stop by Vidorra’s in downtown. The drink selection, fresh watermelon, taco birrias, and southwest salads are to die for. Depending on the margaritas we may go take a nap or go to the Omni for a rooftop swim. Next we will go to Andretti’s for a night of food and fun. Then we will go walk deep ellum and stop by the nines to see my people jimmy and dt. The next day we will go to brunch at moxies for mimosas and great burgers. Walk around uptown and stop for gelato ice cream. Next tnt for a little rooftop fun. Go home take a nap and get ready for XOXO. Great food, great drinks, great scenery, and a secret club after dinner. The next day RH for brunch and rooftop pictures. Mimosa is a must, then go to brunchaholics for a soul food burrito. After that rest up for a great steak at Del Frisco’s.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout the past, the present, and the future. Everything and everyone played a part in where I am today. My family, loved ones, friends, and my clients. My beautiful daughter who has been so patient with me. Myself for motivating myself everyday to do better and be better.
