We had the good fortune of connecting with Alecia Kinne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alecia, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m a Texas girl, born in San Antonio but raised all over! My father was in the military so we moved around every few years to different cities, states and countries. Starting over repeatedly as a child gave me a very different perspective on life. I learned to adjust, dive in and thrive in unfamiliar territory! Those experiences shaped who I am today. Meeting people from different cultures, learning new languages and history and experiencing the world in a whole new way, helped to create in me, a love and appreciation of people and traveling. My upbringing impacted me (positively) as an adult as I continued the pack and go lifestyle, when my husband joined the military. As a military spouse I felt a strong desire to help those around me navigate the ups and downs of military life. My own experiences as a child, as well as my experiences as an adult (with children of my own), put me in a position to be able to understand, guide and support others. I truly wanted to empower others not to just move and exist-but to educate and thrive in their new location and embrace their new experiences. The ability to learn from where we’ve been and help someone else who is now on that journey is still what drives me today.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a Realtor I have the honor and privilege of helping people navigate their journey to buying and selling their homes. Being a business owner was a decades old dream that I was able to finally turn into a reality. As many people did during the pandemic, I reassessed where I was and where I wanted to be. Thinking back to many years ago, when two broke kids were trying to raise babies and navigate adulthood, we used to sit and talk about the day that we would own a business in real estate. Many years later, many adventures later and what was in our hearts for so long was finally an opportunity. I am proud of the journey I have taken in life and those experiences have made me an excellent resource for my clients. I have the opportunity with my business to continue doing what I love: guiding, empowering and advocating for my clients. My years of relocation has made me an experienced resource in relocating quickly and smoothly. My upbringing, and my professional and volunteer background has developed within me, a passion for utilizing my skills and personal experiences to advocate for, outreach to and empower the lives of those within the community I serve. Real Estate is another avenue that allows me to do just that! I believe in providing value, support and knowledge to all of my clients to help them achieve the success they envision for themselves.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We really are lucky here to have access to so much!! I love walking through Watters Creek in Allen in the summer. There are great shops and delicious restaurants and live music throughout summer. It’s the perfect place to just unwind and be social. Dinner at Village Burger Bar and then dessert at Paciugo for some gelato would be the perfect end to a great day! I would definitely make a trip in to Dallas, because no trip to DFW is complete without visiting downtown Dallas. Between the history (6th Floor Museum), the arts (Dallas Museum of Art) and the breathtaking views at Reunion Tower, you can make an entire day/night out of exploring! I would definitely visit my favorite spa: Spavia Day Spa in West Plano for some pampering and then grab dinner at either Whiskey Cake or Haywire! Another favorite spot of mine to take visitors to is the Stockyards in Fort Worth. There are just so many things to do here, beautiful lakes, sports (Go Cowboys!), local shopping and so much delicious food! Eating and exploring are my favorite things to do, there’s always something new here to discover.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am incredibly thankful for my amazing husband! 22 years together and he is still the best motivator, supporter, cheerleader and friend! He accepts me truly, quirks and all. He is supportive of my ideas, my dreams and always ready to jump with me on the next adventure. I appreciate every sacrifice he has made for our family, the love he has given and the daily laughter that I enjoy because of him. I have also been blessed with three amazing kids who always think I’m greater than even I sometimes believe. All of my family and my friends all deserve praise for being so influential in my life, supporting me, loving me and encouraging me and being such an important part of providing positivity to everyone and uplifting those around us.
