We had the good fortune of connecting with Alauren Deaver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alauren, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal for my photography business would be to have an open studio, that would be available to all genres of photography. As well as building a large enough clientele. I’ve always strived to give 110% with making my clients happy .With doing so one can only hope that good character and dedication will help spread word around. I feel that having the opportunity to expand my business into a private studio will give my clients the opportunity of privacy as well as being comfortable with newborn sessions. In todays world comfort is so important.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a photographer, I think what sets me apart from other photographers is that i see people for their interests and personalities. I don’t capture the things I’m interested in, I capture what interests other people. I love making people happy and seeing the looks on their faces when I’m taking their pictures. The whole mood of a session can change a persons personality from shy to excited as soon as I pick up my camera. I believe that’s how I’ve created a name for myself and learning who my clients are through my lens. It took a couple of years to be comfortable with where I’m at. But there’s always room to grow! I’m learning new things every time I pick up my camera. I’ve also learned to not beat myself up when it comes to minor issues. Before a session I constantly worry if I will fail then I remember “it’s okay, just be you” but the only time I feel like I breath is when my client tells me “you did it! You gave me exactly what I envisioned.” I want the world to know that besides just me, the world of photography is such a long haul of a learning process. Even though any one can pick up a camera and take pictures. It takes a true artist to see outside the box and beyond the faces. I truly believe I am a photographer that captures the image not just the face.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my Best friend were to come into town I would definitely take them to a local garden or hiking trails. North Texas has some of the most beautiful plants and trees. A weekend to hike, camp and enjoy what the earth has to offer is so beautiful. Finding a winery near by wouldn’t hurt either!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The people I would dedicate all the credit to are my two sons. They are why I wake up in the morning and push to be the best person I can be. My first born is a natural with modeling for the camera and made practicing easy, considering he’s a toddler speaks volumes on having patient’s behind the lens. Then there’s the newer addition, my newborn. Who has been an absolute Angel by allowing me to learn newborn photography and positioning. I’m very lucky to have them And for them to be so patient with me.
