We had the good fortune of connecting with Alaina Fingal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alaina, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
In 2012, I was married, pregnant, and tired of living paycheck to paycheck. So before my daughter was born, I decided that I was going to get organized. Little did I know that my journey of self discovery and personal organization that would lead me to starting The Organized Money in November 2017.

The Organized Money is set apart in the way we combine time management, productivity, and managing money – all through a paper planner. Many times we don’t realize how our habits, routines, and personality are related to the management of our finances but they all are connected.

If you want to make more money, save more money, and get out of debt, you have to start planning your life. Creating morning routines, managing your time, setting better habits, and learning how to budget consistently.

I create youtube videos each week (https://www.youtube.com/c/OrganizedAlainaMoney) to help others create and stick to their organizational journey.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create video content and courses and consider myself a creator and an educator.

As a YouTuber, I believe the biggest lesson I’ve learned through my journey is that you have to love your craft.

It takes a while to start to see a return on your investment with YouTube and if I didn’t love creating videos, then I wouldn’t have stayed dedicated,

Consistency is a big part of the journey and it’s the main reason why I’m still able to do what I do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite spots is the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Definitely would go there and spend half the day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Many of my organization tips come straight from my mom.

Growing up, she constantly taught me strategies and systems that improved my overall quality of life. I definitely didn’t appreciate it as much as I should have when I was younger, but now I realize how much of an impact she has had over my life & business.
